I can’t even imagine how mad you were. I lost 3 times in a row on Level 30 Normal and I was ready to throw my PS4 out the window. The AI goes from Dummy to Daigo in an instant. It’s not worth it.
I agree it’s an awful grind, since it’s really easy up until about the last 15 or so matches it feels like you’re put in a situation that can only be likened to having a hard boss fight with the only save point being half an hour before it. Which of course would be infuriating. Though the AI can be abused, I did it by buying all attack up and the occassional health and jumping in like a moron up to about stage 30 where i started getting defence because that’s when the AI starts randomly turning it on and doing massive damage. And I’m not above cheesing the AI, Mash DP, the ai will not punish it most of the time, i killed 49 Bison by just dping in his face over and over with Cammy. Walking into the AIs face and dping it is sometimes the only way to beat the button reading retardation it does.
If there are any super cheesy methods of getting through hard or hell in the future, I’ll try those, but to hell with going through with every character.
I’ll try to do normal with everyone. 6 colors is enough for me. Hell, I’ve only got Chun-Li and Karin left on those. Speaking of…any Chun-Li or Karin moves that the AI can’t deal with?
I can’t believe how much time I wasted trying to unlock Fang’s hard colors in this piece of shit mode.
Not sure if this was already mentioned, but here’s a little tip to help cheese survival online a bit: While online, configure the match making to look for casual/ranked matches, and have it set to ask. If you sustained too much damage, you can choose to take any matches to reset your life. You’ll want to set it to ask so you can decline matches if you’re having a good round. It’s not perfect, but sometimes it can save you from failing, I know it has for me.
Well for me, I decided to go through all characters in Easy, and only 10 for Normal. Primarily for the characters that I plan to main and those I like that I didn’t necessarily mind using. The other characters I really don’t care much about so those colors I’ll get if I just want to. But I’ve done it for those colors and the FM. I’m pretty much gonna treat this like I did SF4, where I only bothered buying costumes for the character(s) that I really liked or were interested enough in learning.
It takes a good 10 mins to do 10 matches, so that’s 30 mins for Normal. HOWEVER, this mode is NOT FUN in the least for me to even dare attempt sitting here for 50 mins to an hour to do Hard for the remaining colors…nope…not gonna. Not until they at least add a supplement to allow us to buy a save point for like 150K or continues for maybe 50K each. Seriously…I have literally caught myself yawning, and tears forming from the yawn doing this mode where I just jump HK, foot sweep, jump HK, foot sweep, jump HK, foot sweep, rinse, repeat, EX move or CA for KO. Blech!!!
So right now, 6 colors for 10 characters will do just fine, and I’ll deal with it when the newbies are released. But hard mode?..nope, not gonna.
The try before that I got to stage 30 and I rushed Bison down. He had just a pixel left and blocked everything and killed me. THIS MODE MAKES ME MORE ANGRY THAN FIGHTING HUMANS.
When they add Arcade mode, an alternate method of unlocking colors should be beating Arcade mode in that costume.
With one color unlocked for each of the game’s 8 difficulties. But when you beat it on a difficulty, you unlock all the colors for lower difficulties as well.
So if you’re actually good enough to beat it on difficulty 8, you can unlock all 8 colors in one run.
I just discovered that you only need to complete each mode once; IE “Normal”-difficulty will unlock 3 colors, and “Hard”-difficulty will unlock 4 colors, so it’s not all that bad afterall.
I think they’re referring to having to do it again for the specific costumes, not the colors? Like, having to wear the DLC costumes specifically in Survival to get the extra colors for them?
