There wasn’t a need for it when it came out and from what I heard, it wasn’t any good at all when it came out. Even now, its not any way superior or as good as the existing big entities like say ggpo or 2df and still isn’t needed. A sad attempt at taking over Z-Battle and maybe a few other things we’ll pretend to not know about. I’m surprised there are that many people on it. If I made that, I’d have made sure no-one hears about it.
Also, things that don’t change grow old and die. This applies to everything cultured by humans for other humans including those games. Fun in Fighting games aren’t like the fun in those happy dancing games. I’m sure everyone here will tell you how its different. I’m no game theoretician but from my experiance, people, especially kids love adventure. There is an element of that in those games. Thats why they like and play them or maybe there are other aspects. Different kinds of games have different elements like this example here that people go for. People don’t play a certain game just because its a game. Take you for example, you think fighting games are crap probably because you don’t enjoy playing fighting games. I don’t see it the same way. To me, in fighting games, nothing is more fun beating the shit out of the other guy. I have fun doing it even when I lose. All the game theories, practicing, discipline, preference of particular games to others and what not else aspects of the game is secondary to my fun. The next guy posting in this thread might go for a different aspect. I wouldn’t play a game like say…Streets of Rage twice and yeah, I’ve already played it.
To awnser your question, no. No they are not. While I do like me some old school 16bit games from time to time I would much rather spend what little free time I do have playing games that are actually fun and can keep my attention for more then 15 minutes.
p.s. Its Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Turbo and Super Turbo are two different games in the same series.
Ahh I gotcha. Fair enough and thanks for the clarification
By the way, I’m just curious…do you consider SNES games such as Super Mario 3, Yoshi’s Island, Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, Super Punch Out, or Tetris Attack fun games?
