I overcame that by making my own button cap inserts… there are pics of that in the project gouken (arceye1) thread somewhere… link to that thread is on the top of post #1… i dont sell them because they’re costly to make, but Arcadeforge.de sells my exact design
Another thing to consider is that butteroj is working on something… the thread hasnt been updated in a while but you might wanna post in there to see whats going on…
its pretty easy… just connect the button signals between mc cthulu and sparky via screw terminals (for punches and kicks), and also connect power and ground from mc cthulu to sparky (also via screw terminals)… and thats basically it…
I just got done wiring ArcEye2s to a FGwidget with the original wire harnesses that came with the ArcEye2s. I have each button different colors. I just took each wire out of the connectors and rewired them to the colors I want per button. I’ll have a video up tomorrow.
I didn’t bypass then I just installed the resistors on the board and it’s still plenty bright for clear PS-14-KNs. For the smoke ones I don’t know yet will try them out tonight and see if it’s bright enough or I’ll have to bypass the board instead of using the resistors.
Here’s a video of my stick with the ArcEye2s running on Toodles FGwidget LED board.
I’ll try to make a video on how I rig the harness for each ArcEye2 to be different colors without getting custom wire harness. It’s pretty simple just need a needle to pop out each wire off of the connectors.
Here’s a small picture tutorial on how I rigged the ArcEye2 harness for wiring up to a FGwidget LED control board. You can only get up to 7 combinations but with the cool functions the board has it didn’t matter to me especially the Splash effect. Plus I’ll be adding a light up ball top in the near future.
I used this needle to pop the pins out. But had to becareful not to break or bend the tabs that holds the wires in place.
On P3 daisy chain side I had the connector wired on Blue and green. On the other end going to P2 I swap the blue wire to the red pin to make orange/yellow.
From P2 side I had the wires in Red and green. On P1 side it goes to Red and blue for magenta.
This isn’t the approprate place to ask questions about Arceye copycat products. Nevertheless, I believe KNserts don’t come with a resistor, which is required for sparky. And if you fed raw current to it, its likely fried.
Deleted the post before you replied, i was looking at like 15 or 16 threads and thought i was in the sparky thread.
Also, definitely didn’t fry anything, it still turns on, but wont do anything with the button presses. And i would have bought your “original” product, but the problem is the “copycat” made the product that fits into snap ins without being modified.
