@purplearms,
I will be buying more but need to organize which ones i am using for me and which i will use for future (i hope) clients LOL. and for my project. once i get these in, i will announce it and begin working on it since tech. i will have all the parts, just wood work is all thats left…well real work left i would say
You have a nice large order which will take me some time to solder the pins. I absolutely dont mind doing it of course, but the option is on the table if you want all your LEDs faster if you are willing to solder the pins yourself. Its fairly easy and i could have your order in the mail the same night that the arceye2 arrives at my doorstep… just throwin it out there for anyone who wants their leds faster
Hey PA I have a Leo2 and will hope fully be adding a 360 PCB of some sort to my stick. I ordered like 12 AE2s but need to get the Sparky PWN and a Master Strike too if possible. What is going to be the best way for me to get these items shipped at once? Thanks.
Leo2? Sounds like you’re planning a wireless setup? In which case your power source is probably 3.7v which is not compatible with arceye2. Theres a possible solution if u convert to 5v (I have a link to something that might do the trick, please refer to the faq on 1st post).
You can get a masterstrike, but there is a big flaw where its great for turning power on and off but recharging batteries is difficult due to the inefficiency of the PNP transistors at low currents. I had explained this a bit on the masterstrike thread. Dual wireless is tricky business and u must plan carefully. But if you still want a masterstrike, shoot me an email and we’ll go from there
I will explain soon to preorder customers how to add sparky to the order for combined shipping… Stay tuned to the thread!
i ordered some AE2 for a mod but would also like to incorporate a led in a a ball top for the joystick. i was planing on installing a Sparky PWN for the buttons, could i put a RGB led in the joystick and how could i control it to light on press and change colors like the buttons?
I get asked this alot, and its kind of complicated, so i’ll try to explain in a nutshell:
There is no real good solution to cleanly installing LEDs into a joystick. When you play, you will twist the joystick handle (even if you try not to do it consciously) which will in turn twist the wires, which will in turn cause the wire to separate from whatever it is soldered to. Some people let the LED spin freely in the ball top, but its not the most elegant solution. Slikstick years ago had a nice sollution to provide power to the shaft via 3.5mm jack. They are no longer in buesiness. I 've even removed my custom made lighted bat top from project gouken due to this very problem.
As for direction controlling of LEDS, yes that can be done if you hook up the direction signals to sparky and write some code to control a single LED based upon those 4 inputs (nobody has written any such software yet).
So the short answer is yes, but there isnt a nice easy and clean solution to it.
thanks for the response guys i guess the bottom line is i will need a second chip for the joystick LED? Or could i just use one less push button and wire the leads from the joystick micro switches as if they were all the same input for a press and let the sparky control that led as if it were a button. will the fact that it could be registering 2 inputs mess everything up (exampled- diagonals being 2 cardinal directions). i’m sorry if this has been discussed in previous threads. i tried a LED mod for a joystick before with a hex inverter chip and had less than satisfactory results, so if its going to be a huge hassle to get the balltop lit let me know i’d rather not get my hopes up.
you would need a RGB led if you wanted any sort of color change. I dont know what LED type would work in the balltop. Perhaps butteroj can advise? As for control, the easiest method would be to get a sparky just for the joystick RGB LED and write custom code for it. But i highly recommend against this mod unless you have a good grasp at modding / electronics.
Hmmm… bad news… just confirmed that arceye2 will NOT fit in SANWA buttons… semitsu screw in is ok… as for snap ins, i’m not sure because i dont have any lol…
The headers were a bit much I take it… 1.0 should still fit a Sanwa, albiet with a bit more modding though?
In the end, not too many pearl or transparent Sanwa buttons out there anyway. That said, they may still work with ponyboy snap ins. I may test that when I put my order in
Nope headers weren’t the problem… the button cap itself hits the pcb… i think it will work with a 1.0 with a little bit of cutting of the bottom of the cap…
i made a loop and tied it down like the usb wire is in the standard round 2 stick. eventually when u twist too much you will tell…yes you could in turn damage the wire but you wont mess up the connection of the wire and solder point. -thumbs up-
