darn… i was under the impression that the final sparky was going to have screw terminals so one would need to strip the wires and put them in so i went ahead and got the sparky that’s featured here with the screw terminals. now i see that you ended up choosing header pins instead…sad day…o well it will still work. I’m just going to have to strip all of those wires and manually screw them in.
It was a last minute addition (option for pin headers)… sorry bout that!!
from looking at the .brd files that i am using for the model, there are options for both pin headers AND screw terminals for the “Common RGB Leg Connections” and the “RGB” pins along the top of the board, theres a 6 pin header to connect to the programmer/flasher usb-bub thingy, 20-pin header for connecting to other pcbs, while the reset, aux power, button inputs are screw terminals.
i forget to mention this to 32teeth, but i think that was an excellent design decision, especially since it gives you both options at the top of the board in the same foot print. im guessing its not really going to add to the cost of the board either, so its a win/win for everyone good shit as usual, i love how you guys keep suprising me!
Ya it was a work of genius but hey…did you expect any less!!! lol cant wait to get the arc eye 2’s in. that and either the new project that purps is working on or Teasy Strike to finish this PnP modification project. SOOO EXCITED!!!
@Purplearms I will be sending in my $50 by the end of this week hopefully so i was just wondering what all you wanted me to put on the little explanation box thingy on paypal besides how many arc eyes, templates, etc…i guess what Im really asking is do you want me to include in there the whole bit about the pre-striping and tinning of the wires.
It shouldn’t make much difference - the harnesses that will be supplied with the ArcEye v2 can simply have one end snipped & stripped so you can still use the screw terminals.
I’ll be getting some header pins in bulk anyway as I can use them for other projects.
Yup just remind me of that in the paypal notes… because people’s email addresses / real names can have nothing in common with their SRK name, and i don’t know who i should do what for… and also since i’ll be handling so many orders, it helps me keep track… =D
So, the only solution with installing the AE2s with a PS3 TE as of now is soldering?
ya I’m almost 100% sure that is correct . Please clarify if I am wrong. would hate to be giving out incorrect information. you dont have to worry though because it wouldnt be too much soldering anyways if you got the screw terminals on Sparky Jr PWM (Assuming you have or are going to buy one) and also, Purplearms is making a new adapter that hooks up to Sparky without soldering and it is compatible with both 360 and PS3 TEs and as far as Purplearms knows, all you would need to do is solder one wire to the adapter so it would be something simple even if you’ve had no prior experience with soldering.
I’m working on a plug and play adapter for PS3 TE (and 360 owners without TEasy Strike). You would only need to solder 1 wire to power.
couldn’t you make like a piggyback connector for the wire harnesses going into the board?
just a small suggestion~
Thats what i’m planning. But its not as straightforward as one might think.
The headers are different between TE and TE-S, and the quick disconnect terminal is positioned differently on PS3 vs Xbox TE’s… And those ribbons don’t provide power…
Man, i don’t log on for a couple of days and pre-orders go up… You sir received a fully paid preorder for 8 boards. Thanks for the awesome product… now i just hope it comes before i move. I don’t have a lot of faith in USPS rerouting my package to another state

Dude that is SICK! I want one in my case now!
^ cosign. wiring looks especially clean. do want!
very nice, 32teeth, very niced.
@32teeth. Very nice. When you get the chance can you take some tighter pics of how you connected the PS360 to the sparky? Also maybe explain what I should concern myself with connection wise with the screw terminal model (I am very interested in this set up and want to apply it to my stick).
Looks great! Is it me or do you have the RGB wires connected backwards?
It doesn’t make a difference if you’re consistent with it all the way to Sparky though… i did get the wires colored RGB for a reason lol
