There’s an important difference between “inspired by” or “looks like” and “is a copy of”. The last one is the one most likely to get you in trouble if you are selling things.
am not gonna copy the whole thing, just posted it as a referrence. for one thing i’m using a HRAP V3 and i’ll make one that will fit my stick.
BeWrong it is your money, get what you like and you would be happy with. If you copy something for your personal use (or not), more power to you.
Each Person Has there OWN thing, there OWN style. Get what feel right and works out for you and let no one else sway you. Well maybe your Girlfriend/ Wife or what have you but thatch a different story.,
I toyed with the idea of putting sticks on stand, but at the end, the computer desk option is the tidiest and most functional way to play. Everything is not everywhere.
And the shelves are adjustable as well so you can sort of customise the height of various components, like your stick(s), console and monitor at anytime. Placing the stick on lap while sitting on a fixed office chair is the best I find to play on the go.

Maybe get a stand that is multipurpose. TV Dinner tray, Lap top stand, ect. You just happen to sometimes use your arcade stick on it
TV tray will be your best bet then. Unless you have a dedicated game room, the stand will be an eyesore for her and her ultra meter will be full more frequently.

For the record, I build neither cars nor stick stands.
You don’t need to be an artist to recognize when something is ugly.
(I’ll try to be a little constructive; using particleboard looks extremely tacky, you should invest more time in sanding + finishing (made much worse b/c of particleboard, I guess), and the mixed color LEDs make it look like a cheap buddha shrine at a vietnamese restaurant. Also, your website looks terrible as well, half because you’re using comic freaking sans for everything, half because your images low-res and tacky (especially the logo).)
Out of curiousity @OP, who are you getting to get yours made?
You can think its ugly if you like.
But since I am a person who believes that any companys #1 goal should be customer service I am putting this out there to you.
Write me up a short email about why its ugly, what about the design, paint, etc do you dislike and why.
Please give me some good feedback not just “it looks like butt” give me some real honest feedback, I have been asking for it from Day 1.
I want to know what you think… what everyone thinks…
Also dont forget the design is changeable, I will work with you to create a design you like but will let you know if something just isnt working and work with you to find a solution. if you look at the bottom of the shop page there is an image with a few examples of the concept art submitted to my customers before I even started working then on a picture of the final product.

what are arcade machines made out of? Particle board… also it is the lightest wood to keep shipping costs down.

mixed color LEDs make it look like a cheap buddha shrine at a vietnamese restaurant … I think the mixing of the colors the blend between them looks pretty sweet, and that is what the Customer wanted, so that is what I gave them.

I am not a web designer I use a POS program called web studio to design my website, which i did alone… I was using some awesome fonts in the program which i recently found out it wasnt embedding propperly causing my website to look even worse so i switched to a font every OS has built in… sue me… If you want to make me a sweet flash page Ill build you a stand for cost!

Arcade machines are particleboard + veneers. Veneers look nice, bare painted particleboard does not (and IMO sanding and finishing particleboard is not worth the effort).
Just out of curiosity, where are you getting your wood? Because stores like Home Depot and Lowes will shaft you on prices. Cabinet grade plywood at local lumber yards is usually quite affordable.
I’m not a web designer either, but I know a key principle in any design is to keep it simple. Stop using Comic Sans, shrink your logo, lose the “3d” buttons, and it’ll already look a lot cleaner. Also, stop using Comic Sans. (Did I mention you shouldn’t use Comic Sans?)
Anyways, we should stop hijacking this thread. I’m pretty much done on the topic anyways.

If you are serious about this, put a little money into having a website done properly (and I don’t mean paying some kid $50 to design you a site). Shop around for a design company and look at examples of their previous work. It might seem like a large outlay at first, but it’ll do wonders for the first impression your company (and your product) makes.
(Also, Flash sites are not good sites. Just saying…)

This is my personal arcade setup… I can make stuff with other types of wood, this is pine, sanded, stained, and clear coated.
Theres a nice liquid electrical tape painted around the top that dries to a hard plastic feel and the top is all plexi.
But this… not affordable, especially in this economy… If you want to pay me to build you something like this… feel free to email me…
this setup cost me wayyyyy more than I charge for a duo te stand and 2 te sticks would cost you…
While we’re all critiquing the website: Having videos auto play on load is more than obnoxious. You might wanna remove the auto play.
Also did they mention not using comic sans?
