Arcade stick for caves games

Try an oversized actuator and a stiffer spring…

The Sanwa JLF is awful for Shmups.

he’s using a JLF.

he must be a scrub, only one of the best DOJ scorers ever.

I love my LS-32-01 for shmups.

I am assuming that is an unmodded Hrap 2.

Yes, the larger general consensus is JLF is awful joystick for Shmups.

But the guy in the video gets a pass as

  1. He still playing well great (most important part)
  2. Monitor in Tate position.

People can play with what ever they want, hell play with 5 stripped wires and touching the signal wire to ground for movement if you want.
It’s the player and not the gear that decides your game play skills. A Great player can adapt and overcome the difference in controls.

Still if someone is playing a Shmup with a JLF, don’t come back and complain about loose controls.
I feel no matter how much you mod the JLF with actuator and spring mods, that joystick wills till feel like a JLF. The lever it self leads to it’s long throw.

It’s entirely what your used to. I wonder if he would even enjoy playing with a Suzo 500 or an LS-56.

[So much] THIS

Had a JLF with a .5mm PAS actuator and a 1.5lb PAS spring in my Picade when I was focusing on 3rd Strike, SFA3 and MvsC. It kicked major ass!

Once I started playing Shmups, the JLF got swapped for an LS-40. Without it, the throws were hella long, and my spaceships would invariably become exploded balls of flame. T_T

No longer the case with the Seimitsu hotness

Anyone know where to buy a Suzo 500? I don’t want to buy one just yet so I won’t set up a WTB. I just can’t find an online store that sells one.

Someone who deals with used arcade parts. maybe ebay.

I’m loosing hope.

You are looking for older parts that was discontinued years ago. It’s not going to be easy. Yet there people who found weird obscure parts from Japan that was discontinued decades ago. It’s possible but you need to do your own research instead of asking for easy aswnsers here.

I’ve looked very hard before asking in this thread. If anything this was my last resort. I guess I’m 20 or so years too late for it anyway.

What’s

If you want it for MSRP you maybe too late. You’ll just need to double efforts and initial investment in cost if you still want one.

pm’d

Guy on Ebay selling a lot of Suzo Rotterdams(I think that’s the 500?), but the rubber grommet one not a spring.

grey gate usually indicates the rubber grommet design…

$68 tho… not sure if worth the jump tbh lol, considering its also coming from EUR :perturbed:

Perfect for me i live in EU and @anzhar pm’d me an offer a lot higher than that. Does anybody know the difference in the rubber and spring versions anyway?

Yeah this is better for you, the main difference I see is that it does not have the 4 / 8 way on the bottom,

and they definitely look original to me

I’m gonna look in to these to see how it feel in comparison, by people who have tried both

Yeah if it was the spring version I’d probably pick one up, not sure I want to try out the rubber one especially for that price.

considering its easier to source a new spring if the spring has gone bad, kinda hard to source a new rubber grommet
