im looking for what the normal arcade button sensitivity is and what size buttons do i need for the te2? thanks.
30mm sanwa, Seimitsu, or gamerfinger for the face buttons, 24mm for start and select. Brand preferences are subjective.
which one is the sensitivity and which one is the size?
err i mean what is the arcade button normal sensitivity?
Sanwa and Seimitsu are both stock Japanese arcade parts, depending on who made the panel. There is no “standard” sensitivity.
Read slagcoin.com to get a better starting grasp on this stuff.
Yeah read slagcoin. If particular sensitivity is important to you, you can check out the Gamerfinger buttons that are also available in the standard 30mm size and have interchangeable mechanical switches with mechanical keyboard switches, so the particular actuation force is more openly noted as well as you possibly already knowing which type of switch you like. The possible downside to these buttons that I can’t confirm, is that through a few posts I’ve read on here it doesn’t seem like they have the highest reliability on their buttons, but for all I know that may just be the vocal minority or it may even be a situation where getting to a point where you have all working buttons is a hassle but then once you’re there it’s worth dealing with all of the busted up buttons it took going through to get there. Again as Camacho said, button brand is a preference and so will the switch type in this case. Just read up and try out different things.
There is no “normal” arcade button sensitivity.
I posted the results once on tech talk, I forgot where and I didn’t save my own results. [EDIT] I Found the post, I will leave a quote at the bottom of this post.
But I used the “ripometer” method of testing how much force it takes to press Sanwa and Seimitsu 30mm buttons.
It uses the known weight of a US 5 cents nickle as weights to see how much weight it took to press a button down.
I can say that Sanwa takes less force to press than Seimitsu buttons.
Gamefinger buttons vary with what switch is used.
Happs and IL buttons require even more force.
All that said, there no standard amount of force needed to press a button.
Different brands and even different models of buttons and switches effect how much force is needed.
