|| Arakune || Bees everywhere

Nope, you be scrub.

Well I’m happy to learn anyway I can so Iduno thank you for the time being, and thanks to LAMG in advance for the vids. That was a cool Bang vid, good thing he’s my sub

Playing Bang feels so stressful in comparison to Arakune. If I’m too tired I just can’t play Bang XD. Had a few Arakune mirrors, they really do suck. Plays more like squiggly dominance than a mirror match.

After some time off, and a lot of other things happening, I recently picked the game up again. Just in time for my birthday.

And, I’m suddenly having issues with a rather good rush down Ragna. I’m not asking advice. I know to get better I just need to play him more and get use to his play style. He just is a lot better than i am.

Part of the problem I was having with him is he is incredibly hard to bait into/force into C loop when he is cursed. He is also incredibly good about keeping you pinned in the corner. So, its a task just fighting against him.

My biggest issue right now is wake up. Teching is what is getting me killed. I can’t neutral tech him or roll tech him. He has an answer for it.

That is really my only real question is how do you get off the ground against an opponent who can get you up himself, and has an answer for any kind of tech you try?

dont get knocked down:rolleyes:

im very new to the game also but am a long time GG player so im trying to adjust to all of these changes in the engine. I mainly play this with my same play group from GG but no one mains ragna so idk what hes doing to keep you comboed off of the ground.

Learn the right times to tech and the right ways to tech Surllio.

If you can keep ragna down your good , you just cant let ragna get in your face which is hard I know. Have you tried just dashing the opposite way hes coming when hes throwing out a move>?

Well dotn worry about it now , because arakune is a complete different character in Continuum shift. He is much more like zappa so all the bullshit we could run with wont be working in the next game. Or even not at all for that matter…

AY TUNA EFF YOU! I hate when people counter pick me with V-13! and Tager (LMAO)

i saw the list of changes and i dont get what the fuck theyre trying to do, they took away alot of his offensive options and made his zoning much better but he gets penalized more then anyone now for not pushing the action. WTF?:wasted:

As was I , I didn’t even understand what the hell they were trying to do. Its like they want everything he does to be completely obvious where as before it could be masked. He already gets negative penalty half of the time. I don’t understand… Im sure they still didnt even give him any good ground normals.

I know trapping people with the spit bug bell bug corner trap is a really asshole move, but it was really effective and you could incorporate it into combos. It looks like it will be really hard if not impossible to do this with the bee mechanic changes in Continuum Shift.

Its a fighting game. Winning Strategies that don’t exploit glitches are not asshole moves.

At this point, most everyone knows about the corner trap. Most of your better players will do everything they can to avoid the corner against you. Not everyone gets stuck in it, there are escapes (damn you noel!!!). If they fall for it and whine about, its their own fault.

Its going to be interesting to see how everything play out when the final version comes out. So far, they are still location testing, so what you are seeing may or may not be final.

Now, on the subject of fighting this particular Ragna…

My friend is REALLY good. His Ragna is ALWAYS in your face. The times I’ve actually managed to beat him, its because he gets too aggressive, or I managed to get away long enough to mount an offensive. Once you hit the ground, it becomes a game of what is he going to do.

I’ve gotten a little better at trying to tech him, but it still does little good. He keeps changing up his game plan, and when that stops working, he changes up again. I really need to get him into some tournaments.

Dashing past him worked in the past, but he has learned which moves hit the dash or track well. He isn’t an impossible fight. I just spend too much time trying to get away from him, because I can’t out offense him at the start.

You know for some reason you say that… what Id do against him is 236C Instant J.2C Dive cancel 6D or even try 2D
Because 2C takes you backwards it helps to To create spacing and if he gets hungry he gets hit with a bell bug or a slug. Ive noticed alot of people dont tihnk outside of the box when playing with a character who has such high mobility.

Tager is totally busted.

So should I still be concerned with trying to learn the 5C loop or just forget it since it won’t be viable anymore?
