|| Arakune || Bees everywhere

I think that’s the only time I’ve seen that referred to as dive cancelling. Everywhere else I see it called dash cancelling.

With the dive cancelling thats related to j2a, your stick should be sitting at 2 til just before you do your 5b where you let it go neutral. For some reason if you’re not holding down before it no move comes out, probably because it’s a glitch related to doing 2 dives in a row only instead of a dive you’re doing a 5b since you’re so close to the ground. That’s my guess anyway.

I’m having a frustrating time trying to figure this one out. I can do it, not as consistently as I’d like though.
It also doesn’t come out ad fast.
This shouldn’t such an issue lol

played some more Arakune last night at Casino (I only have UK 360 so have not got console yet)

game is just too fun. Still haven’t got down his technical stuff but boy is he the sickest amalgamation of Shuma Gorath. Twelve, Blackheart and Storm I could have hoped for!

NEW WAY FOR ARAKUNE PLAYERS TO IDENTIFY EACH OTHER:

if you play Arakune, when you are in teh arcade or online/whatever say:

“BBBZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz”

If any other Arakune players are in the establishment, they MUST respond

“BBBZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” within 10 seconds (aka 600 frames) or

they are NOT an Arakune player and must renounce playing him ever again. They can go and be a V-13-nu-Fa9

i think i need to learn to play more conservatively, but it’s hard on run down. Get C bug out when i don’t want it is annoying.

The online delay the last few days has been so bad that its hard to get some of the simple combos off. But, thems the ropes. I seriously need to find a local group to play with. I was having trouble looping 6C, 5C, 2C, CB bug after curse.

Someone in another thread said that Arakune and lag was instant win. After that horrible run last night (1 and 17) in some really bad lag matches, I would have to say that is false.

I’m still having issues with the Dive Canceling into 5B. I know I will get it (as it comes out…sometimes).

Heres some of my vid’s. I can rarely do this online but the connection was REALLY good. and I mean REALLY

Also if your upcoming arakune player. I dont suggest you to focus on online play unless it’s like your true only option. Try going to goto local sessions. You really won’t get better at dive canceling online

my stick i’ve been working on. needs some touch up but i like it

We don’t all have Facebook, Jrsdrumz
=O

Well get with the times man! :lovin:

because I am definitely too lazy to try any harder

Those are awesome vids! I’ve got to start practicing those.

As far as local play, the small group we have all work different schedules. Getting together with my friends to play is a lot harder than it was a year ago. Use to meet up on Saturdays back when Accent Core and Arcana Heart were the newest american fighters. That hasn’t happened since February though. Now, we are lucky to even get a single person over for more than an hour.

So, some combos I learned tonight:

Both. I haven’t seen any dive combos posted here so I figured I’d list it out. It starts out with a neat setup I saw in some random arakune video on nico.

Start with a teleport (going past them), as you cross them up release CB bug at the same time, then:

j6a, 9, j2a, j2b, j2c (hold c bug) (hold b bug, i find it easiest to hold both at the same time) as they’re about to touch the ground, release CB and go into a 6c loop. It’s important that you do an A bug after the second 6c in your 6c loop or they can tech. As far as I’m aware this is arakune’s single most damaging combo. You can consistently get 6700 damage on every character in the game.

Timing things: the j2a after the forward jump cancel has to be done relatively quickly, too late and you’ll drop the combo. You must only press the b of j2b as the j2a hits, any earlier and the bug will miss or launch them in the wrong direction. This was the hardest part for me as when I was trying to figure it out I was mashing on the b and it kept making me screw up.

other combo i have is if you happen to hit a 6c without curse, whether you’re being scrubby and using it as an overhead when you have meter like i do, or if you run out of curse mid combo or whatever.

6c, 5c, 2c, RC 5d cba bugs j6a, dive combo

first one is such a nice setup and i don’t know why more kunes dont use it. so far everyone ive tried it on has fallen for it at least once since its kinda hard to block and you can get 7k damage off it which is so ginormous for such an ambiguous setup. you can even go super mindgames and use 214c then release it after you’re back on the other side once they catch on. options are endless!

here’s a video if it in action, this arakune playing against people on psn or xbl or whatever wrecking some face. he uses it in the first set against jin and again against nu. also it took me over an hour to load for some reason but it was definitely worth it since i learned this stuff, http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7843317

EDIT: Ok, so, after testing it out on rachel I discovered the second combo doesn’t work on everyone.

Rachel: all the bugs after the 5d whiff.
Nu/Lichi:works up until j2b, j2c will whiff. You also don’t need the C bug after the 5d to launch.
Tao: works up til the j2b.
Noel/Jin/Bang/Ragna/Haku/Tager/Arakune: Works perfectly. If your j2c is moving you away from them, delay the j2b slightly.
Carl: DOES work but the timing is ridiculously tight. I can’t get it consistently, the c bug whiffs him like 90% of the time.

I also discovered you can continue the combo with a j6a with no bugs hitting on every character but after jcing the 5d i had a tough time getting the 6a out before they teched.

For rachel, nu, lichi, and tao here’s the combo I’d do after an RC:

5c jc JA JC JD -> 6c loop. This works on everyone except carl (you need a JB to pull him close to you but he can tech before the JC) but you get a lot more damage with the dive combo than you do with this. But on the other hand this is much easier to execute so do what you want.

can someone(mod or OP, PLEASE) please update the first post of the combos of this:

6a > 5D > 236B invis > BC bug > 6C loop

to be this:

6a > 5D > 236B invis > CB bug > 6C loop? i tried the former with like no success but i followed zodi4c and dime’s method of doing cb bug instead of bc bug and it comes out everytime. just want to save anyone from ripping out their hair from thinking theyre doing it correctly but just won’t combo =P

and maybe update the first post with the information of getting j.2a ~ 5b that was posted earlier in this thread? i forgot who posted it but i’m able to get it consistently just by holding 2 as suggested. people who wouldn’t know normally and are trying…it would probably help them immensely.

awesome thread guys, keep it coming. i <3 kune.

lol doujinshi , I disocvered that was the problem early… that CB bug works like a charm.

Good finding Zodiac. Might I suggest that for those chars where the J2C whiffs, try dive recovering after the J2B or just figure out a way to keep them busy with bugs and what not until theyre close enough to the ground for a CB bug~6C loop.

Yeah, CB is deff the way to go. It’s consistent. The way I do the dive recovery, which comes from CopperDabbit is: J2a~late J2B*5B.

Basically, Dive~input J2B as you see arakune about to hit the floor and tap 5B right after. Works 100%. It’s a really tight input. For some reason though I can only get it when Theyre knocked down, and I’m wondering how Japanmans get it even on block strings haha

BTW:

For Counter-heavy Hakumens, I play one locally all the time and I’ve noticed he at least always counters the last hit of a block string. This probably isnt the same for the rest of them, but I am not sure wether or not he has the option to counter an earlier part of a block string.

For that, I’ll leave you with this video of myself and the hakumen I have mentioned at a 5v5 Tournament this past week.

In the last round, you’ll notice what I did, which i could have punished with a curse, a bug distortion if I had the meter, a dive recovery, etc.

Also, let me know what y’all think of my gameplay. It’s far beyond perfect and I know I don’t combo nearly as much as I should but critisize it:) It’ll help open my eyes to things I might not be able to see for myself.

You missed to many options for it to be not online… sometimes you have to give up the cloud to set up those big damage opportunites you gave up

for example and beginning you could have 6c looped lol
and you could got him in a 1a loop into invisble cancel into rekka
you could continued the combo on the last round into the corner for an easy trap on hakumen

some people it’s just not good to summon a cloud on , MTP throws a nail everytime he sees you clouding… and he gives him time to IAD

and some people you should never summon a cloud on unless they are down from counter(close)

Yeah I agree with kombo you missed way too many options. But you do have the right idea.

Like for example AT Around 00:35 (this is the only match I looked at , Ill look at some again later) After 236C ALWAYS! hold B and release when they drop. Because its free 6c loops or free j.abc~5D recurse.

Also , Im working on a arakune block string video. I like doing blockstring into guardbreak Alot now.

Also Ill have to put some new matches up onmy youtube… really soon. I wish I would have Saved my replay vs MikeZ : [

Old match but prolly the most recently recorded… I was missing too many setups in this one.

I feel so inferior in comparison to these videos, but it gives me something to work towards.

Let me get featured in the vid. I have some good ideas brewing.
