Aquapazza: Queen of Hearts returns (sort of), coming to PS3!

You need to fuck up bigtime to fuck up a netcode for Japan’s heavenly internet…

[06:00:16 pm] <someAzNdude> yeah the netplay atm is really terrible
[06:00:24 pm] <someAzNdude> its lunaport all over again
[06:01:51 pm] <someAzNdude> i was playing zerp and it felt really heavy
[06:01:59 pm] <someAzNdude> and we were getting desyncs
Apparently netplay sucks.

It’s pretty big in Japan, and there’s lots of complaints on the jbbs.

Well their was words during development that the developers had difficulty with netcode. Well now we know their reason for delay is legit but better they release the game and fix the problem later than not release the game at all (phantom breaker…though Microsoft was partially at fault with that case)

I think it goes with out saying that any game release this genration will have it issue expcially with online but their will at least be 1 update that address this problem. So I’m not worrying about the “suppose poor netcode” (how good that patch is another story…KOFXIII)

I guess its too much to hope that this game will have a patch for the netcode in a timely fashion like Persona (took them like 1 week after NA release to get dropped and they started on it few days after Japan release)

Luckily i play local versus more so i’m about to get a copy of this soon. I can imagine the lulz that will transpire

while word is that its unimpressive, their are word of few playable, even from international stand point. Best route is simply to network with those who have good connection. I recommend locally and coast wise. Utilize network such as mirc, and forum to find others to play with since I doubt this game will not garner Internationale interest like others.

EDIT: YO i understand this game is…not consider well receive from western perspective but can’t we at least have an article letting people know this game has been release?

Yeah kind of sad no news for the release of the game despite it being…“Anime”. Persona easily overshadowed AP here in the West in terms of attention. Also no localization plans did not help the situation with due to lack of any news updates on the game

It’s the only way they’re going to make money so EXAMU pretty much has to patch it. Might not be as fast as P4U, but it’ll probably happen. I will remain hopeful.

We knew there was going to be a P4U patch before the game was released. I’m sure the complaints are still rolling in to Examu, they will probably respond.
We could be worse off. Our fate could be in Ecole/French Breads hands.

That would be a good thing as they’ve delivered timely patches for each game or upgrade officially at the very least.

Examu wont’ do shit.

Also fuck this ‘High Low Emotion’ shit, what a dumb fucking mechanic.

The overriding thing is that a patch doesn’t do shit if it’s coming from people who don’t know how to fix it. See: KoFXIII.

Yeah this is Examu, I shouldn’t have expected anything amazing.

I really don’t see the problem here… This is basically a guard bar that “works both ways”. (punishes defensive play but also rewards offensive play) So in various forms this also exists in GG, MB, UNIB and countless other titles.
Sure it had its low points like Riannon in 1.0 who just spammed a few meteor supers in a row to force a momentum change, but that’s not a fundamental problem with the system itself, just in the needs for some tweaks like everything.

IS that really the casse? didin;t seem like thaty to me. (god why am I an idoit)
It doesnt seem at blunt as that. Because their are option to mitigate some stuff. IB prevents and restore “Low emotions”. Repel smash and passive assist place risk on the offensive person during block stun.

Emotion’s a silly mechanic, but this is a silly game and it kinda fits lol. I don’t really have any complaints with the game besides the fact that it isn’t going to be played much in the US, so I won’t get to do as much goofy dumb shit at people as I’d like.

This would be played as much as Today MB in US. Does not mean i won’t enjoy myslef playing this with a few friends.

On another note, i have no issues with the “emotion” mechanic. X-Factor to me is a higher caliber Herp-Derp creation in fighters. Don’t get me started on Pandora either…

It’s a problem when it’s not universal. My character can trigger low emotion six seconds into a match and continuously trigger it and then some characters will barely trigger it. Hell it’s triggered when you’re ‘not blocking correctly’ too. It’s just dumb.

I dunno. I think the Emotions System is fine. Getting into Low Spirits is annoying, yes, but it just means you have to adjust the way you play. Also, sometimes hitting Low Spirits doesn’t even matter that much if you have meter to expend on Resist Smashes or Partner Counters. Instant Guarding is a bit weird in this game, but it’s not all that hard to do. I was sorta surprised to find out it wasn’t universal also, but it makes sense to me. For instance, it takes awhile for Karula to go into Low Emotions from blocking, but she has slow normals, slow movement, and specials with a lot of recovery on them. Instant Guarding her stuff isn’t too bad either.

As for the netplay stuff, dunno if anything will be done about that. AH3 had some patches to fix some gameplay glitches, but I’m not sure if the network play was touched. Also, they had Arc System helping them out with that game. I really am hopeful they do something but… don’t be surprised if they don’t.

As for P4U overshadowing AP in the West, I’d say that was a given since the game wasn’t released to the West, lol. It’s also expensive to import, but hopefully it will pick up some steam.

Hmm did no one took the time to research the game their playing? It only silly when not understood

This is why it’s a problem. It doesn’t actually ADD anything to the game, it’s an overbearing inconsistent mechanic. It’s telling me I can’t play the way I want to because it just doesn’t me to play that way for some asinine reason.

I mean if they wanted to give Manaka low defense fine, give her low defense, but don’t make her defense (and guard) lower by actually playing defensively. That’s so ass backwards I don’t even know where to start.

Manaka actually has above average defense, haha.

I mean, I feel that the Emotion System does add something to the gameplay. At a low level, I think it could definitely be seen as an asinine mechanic since it’s something that is going to get you killed a lot (Low Emotion into Guard Crash), but don’t forget that High Emotions gives you the opposite status for being more aggressive and getting in there, as opposed to playing a supremely ranged game. I know for Manaka, at the very least, the players I know that play her play her at mid-range and abuse her deceptive normal range and the fact that her normals/specials go into different normals and Heavy Smash. Usually the only time I see Manakas fall back and toss books is when they have a commanding lead, so they don’t need to worry about Low Spirits at that point.

Again, learning to Instant Guard and anticipate what your opponent is going to do doesn’t really seem like such a big engagement for me. There are only 13 characters, and there aren’t a crap ton of moves (no command normals, so every character is just 5ABC/2ABC). I feel like figuring out and learning a lot of that stuff will alleviate a lot of the stress from the Emotion System woes I think you’e feeling right now.
