About the matches being recorded, are they going to be uploaded to youtube or some other video site after the tourney? I can’t make it to the tourney myself as I have a prior engagement that week, but I’d quite like to watch some of the matches. Hoping this goes well enough that it happens again on a day I can make it.
I’ll find out if my brother has the day off, if he does maaaaaaaaaaaaybe we’ll show up for a while for casuals. Probably wouldn’t stay long enough to actually enter the tournament, haven’t seen each other for a while.
Edit: fairly good odds I’ll appear… what time does it start? I’m guessing either noon or like 6-ish? Probably would be cool to specify (unless you did and I’m blind… I didn’t look at the picture in the OP now that I think about it so if it’s there then shit…). Also if it wouldn’t work out to actually stay for the tourney there would at least be casuals after for a while right? Would blow to pay 20 entry for me and my bro then not get to play.
I’m aiming to get everyone together by noon, with games at 1. spectating is free. i will have more information on schedule once i go check out the lan center.
What time is everything closing?
Good luck guys. Hope you guys do really well and this is just the beginning of bigger better things
Still looking to hitch a ride. Offering gas money.
somebody help this guy out ^
I don’t want to sound like a total scrub but… What controllers are banned at the tourny? Is wireless banned?
It might be wise to get Chaos on saskgamers to edit this in so if we have some new players show up, they won’t be screwed over because they brought their wireless controllers.
I agree, there should also be a link to this thread on saskgamers so they can see some of the members here.
Dorian needs a ride as well, do you know anyone SC players who are going that could give him a ride?
I don’t know any specific saskatoon starcraft player thats coming down, but i know some are coming down. I would recommend him to post on the saskgamers thread. I’m sure someone will give him a ride if he asks.
I haven’t set specifics on controllers yet, as I haven’t made it down to the venue to see what we’ll have on hand. This is an issue for the MK players, as I know they will all have wireless. I might setup one console with wireless pads on it if we have pad players. If so they will probably just be stock for that setup. THIS IS A BYOC event, and all controllers must be wired, without exception.
What system are we playing on?
i will update this after the weekend. I haven’t gotten out to the venue yet to see what we’re working with systems wise. likely 360 though. ps3 for mk most likely as well.
tourneys will be run on xbox360. all wired controllers.
MK9 will be run on ps3. wired controllers. BYOC.
Our room looks nice. We are going to have the birthday party area, while the SC’ers will be on the other side. WHOSE HYPE? THIS GUY.
i still have a DLC issue to deal with. it may affect MvC3, and potentially MK
I remember for Canada Cup we had a bunch of consoles going with masking tape holding down various directions and buttons on the controllers to play the games for us and unlock stuff.
DLC is so annoying sometimes…
I think it’s safe to assume no one plays Jill or Shuma Gorath.
2 questions.
1- will the venue money and tournament entry fee be going to the same person? Cause if so I’ll just bring a 20.
2- if someone showed up, but didn’t enter any of the tournies, but wanted to play casuals after, would they have to pay the venue fee?
post tourney, you will have to pay the standard matrix gaming fee, so no. you wont be gouged into the 10 bucks if you aren’t playing.
venue money will be given to the matrix, and tourney money will go to whatever side organizer your on? (they will be able to give you change)
Well if DLC is an issue, I can bring my 360 hard drive (granted they have the new 360’s).
