Not really, his mvc3 vids are really good and informative. Jill’s especially. Plus they’re funny, and that appeals to anyone regardless of skill level.

Max gets credit because he plays MvC3 which he’s “good” at. Keits runs the front page and loves MvC3. Anything max says is gospel and helpful because he plays MvC3. This is why he gets videos on the front page more than someone like C-Royd or even the 3sJunkies podcast.

Max has likely played more 3S than anyone posting in this thread. While not the best around, he IS part of the 3S old guard.

Although I’m not here to bash on Max. Imo, if you disagree with him, this should be your inspiration to make your own content. You might not get it posted on the SRK front page, but at least people in this sub forum would see it, and those people should be your target audience anyway, at least more so than SRK frontpage scrubs.
I don’t know if he truly played at FFA. I could swear I’ve seen footage of him in tourneys years ago before 3SO, though. Maybe not, and maybe I’m wrong.
Anyone from that time is ‘old guard’, IMO, and I don’t find much of his 3S advice to be terribly inaccurate either.
I meant more along the lines of, how can you assume no one else in this thread has at least the same amount of experience as someone who used to play at FFA? Simply saying you used to play at FFA doesn’t really mean much at all, and thats not a slight to Max. In fact, I’m sure he (and anyone else that used to play at FFA) would back me up on that.
uh… i’m pretty sure he’s talking about sf2 and sf4 when saying that sf3 will give you bad habits, and he’s right. there’s still the same things that work the same way they do in sf2/4 in 3s but it’s not guaranteed because, yes you guessed it, parreeeez! and so what? he’s not saying 3rd strike is garbage like 90% of the 1337 assholes on this site do, he’s saying it’s “bad” when you have those habits in those specific games. as for sf4 being more of a footsie game than 3s, he’s also right. dashes suck, jumps suck, so you’re stuck to just mostly zoning and footsies in sf4, hence it’s a more footsie based game (and i fucking hate the term “footsies” for some reason. way too overused on this site and especially with new members).
if i had this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQEB1QFnusw) it would’ve backed up some of my shittier responses in the anti 3s threads on this site back in the day, especially trying to explain how you can be more creative in sf3 than any other sf game. btw, where were you die hard fans when i was getting my ass infracted trying to defend 3s to all the new sf4 players who were interested in trying it but always reading that parries ruin sf3 by the sf2 graybeards and sirlinistas?
