Anyone with AllFightStick case, need help with layout selection

Right now I have a TE2+ and I was wondering if I should get the extended layout or the normal when getting my AllFightStick case. From what I can tell, it just separates the joystick further away from the buttons. The TE2+ is comfortable to me so which one of those is comparable? Also, anyone else that has thoughts or advice on what layout and why, please let me know! I think I’m going to go from viewlix to Sega 2P for my buttons. I’m not sure of the benefits of extended vs normal and vice versa.

A: Standard

Some people complain that they bump hands with standard spacing. To me, that means they have gorilla hands, or have no finesse. Take what ya want from that. I wear L-XL Mechanix gloves and I’ve used standard joystick/buttons spacing with zero issues.
Also, Sega 2P is nice, but it’s all based on preference. I prefer both you mentioned, with favor going to Sega 2P for 6 button layouts.

Ok awesome. You’ve convinced me to stick to with Vewlix for now. It’s fine for me on my TE2+ and there was no reason for me to change it up except I heard people saying of all the layouts, vewlix is the worst.

Opinions are like assholes. Everyone’s got one.

Dude, com’n. I play fighting games with a hand disability, I don’t need to feel subhuman when I’m researching arcade parts.

Accessibility is 100% a valid concern when choosing parts and layouts, particularly since playing games raises the risk of hand injury and doubly so at professional level.

OP: the gap between buttons and stick getting wider means your hand is going to be at less of an angle and more straight on. I find my one Sega Astro layout stick to be a bit of a better feel than Noir, which is kind of spacey. Depending on the bracket used for mounting you might have to use a Sanwa 30mm nut to fit under the bracket for your 1p/1k buttons if you’re using Semitsu screw-ins, otherwise you have to shave down the Semitsu nut.

You’re making an argument where there isn’t one. No one is shitting in your lap. Thicken that skin.

“Spastic” is a disability slur, a really bad one. If you think talking shit about something with the gravitas and importance of arcade stick spacing requires going for slurs, that’s your bad. Don’t be a dick to disabled gamers in the place where people come to learn how to tweak controllers to their exact needs, the entire basis behind building accessibility controllers in the first place. You wouldn’t lean into race stereotypes if someone asked you to get either a RAPV or a RAPV Kai… I hope.

I’ve changed my earlier post to be more PC. Hope that calms the nerves.

Sure, but man, it ain’t about being “PC”, it’s just about taking the effort not to be needlessly shitty to people. It shouldn’t require more effort for any given group of people to enjoy shoryuken. Like all parts of the FGC, if it doesn’t get new blood, it will die. It takes less time to say “sorry I was shitty” than to edit a post.

Thanks for taking this to next level crap once again.

Nobody is pissed off but you! I asked you to do better and you’re acting like not being shitty is some kind of personal favour and not the lowest bar possible, lol. I come here and help people with tech questions because I want the arcade stick scene to grow strong again, I’d rather not have to deal with playground shit that you don’t have to as the price of entry. I could understand if other people look at this site, see this thread or stuff like that Ultimate Warrior dipshit talking about hunting down trans people that keeps getting bumped and thinking “no, fuck that”.

This is way more effort than you going “sorry I was a dick, I didn’t realise!” and the matter being dropped, man.

See I’m not into just apologizing and letting things be—because that’s not what you want. Like other threads, you don’t want to just set things straight.

You want to walk up to the podium, tap the mic, and start grandstanding. You’ve done this since you’ve started posting here. I’m not falling into that trap. I’ve fallen deep enough here already.

It’s still open mic night for you, except I just walked out the backdoor. Floor’s yours. Have fun!

Nah man I just don’t want to deal with hate speech when I’m telling people how to assemble joysticks

You weren’t telling anyone how to assemble anything at the point you injected yourself in here… I was.

Yes, thank you for the apology
