Definitely agree with KI being a fun game, I remember my mom bought it for me the day I had a math test(which I aced), The black cartridge bought me joy. The setting, characters, and music were great.
Other than KI, MK2, UMK3, and Weaponlord, where there really any other good american made fighters?
Where the fuck is my ki3
KI gold for the N64 was awesome IMO not as good as mortal kombat not even close to street fighter but for stictly combo depth it was a really good game for the time
As one of late comers to the snes xband scene and ki i made it top tier near the end.
i do think it was one of the best fighting games ever. there were a TON of unbreakable and glitch combos that we would use because anyone doing an auto-double or linker was just a noob.
i haven’t read this whole thread but someone said jago sucked. when mastered he was one of the very best, along with orchid and tj.
i bought a KI machine for $250
it was all about spinal for me in KI.
There was an ultra that I did once in the SNES version that i’ve never seen again.
forgot how many hits it was but I remembered it ended with a juggle of 3 skull fireballs at 3 different heights on the screen. Does anyone possibly know how to do what I’m talking about?
Seriously if you don’t know what Killer Instinct is the you need to learn about your proper Fightan Game History.
Glacius fo life.
who remembers those bad ass SLOW MO combos? TJ combo had a sick slo mo combo.
Slo mo Ultras and mini-ultras were the shite! Combo’s Hyper Ultra was baller as well!
so they fuckin with us with ki3. i know its coming. announce that shit. maybe theyre waiting to drop some good shit, and not just some teaser. i bet that shit drops this year. you watch. ki3 at evo 2k10
it was probably me. I don’t think jago sucked, per se, but he was towards the bottom. he was definitely better than fulgore and thunder, that’s for sure. to me, he was debatable on #7 or 8 with spinal.
Jago was a lot of fun tho, and he can win matches. but he had issues.
and slow mo combos in KI 1 own. Super slow mo combos were even better tho =)
just to keep the ki love going. fuck iiiiiiiiiit

you are probably talking about the juggle glitch to where if you knocked an opponent in the air came forward and did a linker while they were in mid air and press released the juggle projectile as they stood up it would hit the opponent and make the screen shake, take a ton of energy and knock them down. Alot of us did that with Orchid. It would take half a life bar and was unblockable. If I remember spinals would hit and then knock them up half the screen and then hit again at the top.
(I think there is a you tube video of someone doing orchid’s 80 on the snes using a technique like I mentioned.)
Another cool thing with spinal was to glitch into the other player by doing an air-ender because it wouldn’t actually hit and leave you as a black and white version of your enemy. You do do their combos and ultras…
I looked for 20 minutes and can’t find that video. you can look up some arcade stuff on how to pick people up off the floor when they drop though. usually requires doing 2-3 moves while they are in the air so the game thinking you are ready to pulverize them again…

I still have it on the N64.
ki2 = garbage
KI 64 = KI gold
Don’t know if it’s 2.
I don’t like any KI, not really my game.
I still Play Killer instinct Gold
