I was planning on going up to Canada on the 19th for a Guilty Gear tournament, and was going to drop by Preppy’s for poker night on the way up. I most likely have a car, the only problem is that I’m not technically licensed. I’m stuck with a learner’s permit until March, and thusly need someone over 21 and licensed to come with me in order to drive up.
So I was wondering if anyone who fit that description would want a ride up from OR? In exchange, I’d cut said person out of the gas bill (Splitting it between the remaining carpoolers, myself included), so they’d essentially have a free ride up. Only catch would be that since I of course need to get the car back to OR, I’d need said person to either come with to Canada (Of course still not paying for gas), or stick around in WA until Sunday morning when I’m heading back (I can get some of the WA GG players to help out in this capacity on the Canada leg of the trip, if you’d rather stay in WA for a day).
Hey I’d be up to go up there, seriously. I’m pretty much 22 and I have my License. If you’re really serious, Private message me or post up, but do it as soon as possible because I need about month to request time off from my job. Maybe other PDX people can come too?
DOES NOT COMPUTE! If the said person were to hang out in Seattle when you went to Canada then you no longer have the licensed driver you need in the first place. Right?
then why doesn’t he just drive to there and get them for the border? unless your car is gonna get you pulled over in the 10 minutes you’ll spend still in Oregon state, nobody who pulls you over in Washington is gonna know the random ass have-someone-in-the-car-law from Oregon. The Washington police don’t even enforce the Washington law like that. I’ve never followed that rule, always driven after the curfew, etc. etc. and nothing’s ever happened when I got pulled over. I’m sure he’d be fine from Portland to southern WA… Be a man, Alex! Break the law!
Worst comes to worst, woo the police officer with your flowing golden locks. :lovin:
I’ve got Mackinzie’s copy of Accent Core and I’m hoping to give it to someone from Portland to get it back to him.
In WA state, you must follow WA state traffic laws. If you are still a student driver in WA state, you must have a licensed driver of five years or more in the car while you drive on public roads.
