I dont know if this might help:
for the joystick. And as far as the car speakers go, they work the same way a home stereo one would, latch on the speaker wires and connect to a surround sound like i did, sounds great.:wgrin:

I just finished assembling KRAY cabinetā€¦ VERY EASY! and look so nice.
check my facebook album

Kray cabinet on my facebook

I really recommend him! he helped me so much, replace my broken piece (because of stupid UPS) very fast!
5 stars!

Now i regret not ordering 2ā€¦ no jokeā€¦

Tomle are u located in canada.

Yes meus, im from montreal, canada.

You can ask Kray, pretty sure he dont mind to ship to toronto.

i just started a little painting & i already messed up haha, probably wont post pics anymore, so it doesnā€™t diminish how awesome Krayā€™s workā€¦

Can you tell us more what you did wrong? Maybe you can share some of your experience. Because i still looking how i gonna paint thisā€¦

One i didnā€™t sand it good enough & i ended up putting more coats then i needed. I should have taken my time, its a good thing its only the two tv panelsā€¦Im going to start on the control panel today & probably do the bottom base tomorrow. I probably shouldnt be painting right now as its pouring out right now haha, but im so impatientā€¦Iā€™ll probably post the final product once im done, Kray you can PM if you want me to take the pics down haha, ill completely understand!

Cool thanks! I know he will ship to toronto. My only worry is ups. What shipping courier did u get and did u get hit with taxes, brokeage etc.

Kray ship by UPS, pretty fast, around 1-2 week.

Come in 4 package, I pay around 40$ import tax. He packed very well, to be honest. I really love to do business with him. He very kind guy and answer everything i asked, even stuff not related to the cabinet.

sorry for my bad english.

anyone know if kray sells CP only? and if so the price?

Whatā€™s up Kray =)

Howā€™s the mini-me VLX Half Stand coming along?

Any new updates, so we can all drool over?? lol

Maybe a finalized price w/shipping?

Please, let us know! Thanks!

The good thing is though that paint cant be fixed so itā€™s not that much of an issueā€¦ Breaking something would really be embarrassingā€¦

Post your resultsā€¦ I get mine tomorrow and Iā€™ll post as many pics as I can once I have it done but it will be a while though.

Also I dont think but just to make sure is any bondo needed at all for this?

And what grades of sand paper did you use?

What works as well as bondo but without the smell or caustic properties is drywall joint compound. Just coat the exposed MDF edges and then sand smooth. Seals it well.

Hey Kray I just emailed you at your Gmail, very interested in purchasing a vewlix cabinet. Thanks

Kray, just a heads up for ya, i will be jumping on this bandwagon soon =) i have to compliment you all on the awesome work youā€™ve done with your cabs =)

Thanks for the compliments guy!!!
Here is one that was finish last night and ready to be ship out.

Racadio, I got the Sanwa JLF TP-8T and the connector was on the opposite side. I had to take the plastic part out and rotate the PCB to make it fit.

The kit require bondo or Spackerling paste/compound joint to fill the crack and joint. I like to use bondo because it dry fast but harder to sand if you donā€™t have a power sander or DA. You canā€™t just paint them out of the box. There are lot of sanding involve to make it smooth in order to get the mirror shine. The bevel or machined parts will require alot of attention and sanding.

Sick, I really like theseā€¦

Very nice Kray! Yeah i figured it out about the PCB thing duh haha, so my last question is the graphics art, where are you guys getting this printed out? What type of paper & size? How much is the cost?

Oh & how many coats of paint did you guys do?Thx

Did you take the pic down already because I didnā€™t see it?
If you mess up the paint already it a easy fix just sand it over with 220-300 grit and prime it more then repaint it.

Some tips for prepping the cabinet
1.First bondo the cracks and holes, sand it down with 120 grit to get rid some of the excess bondo then finish it off with 220-300 grit on all the bevel or machined parts to make it smooth.

  1. Spray 3-4 layers of primer just on the bevel or machined parts only. Sand it down with 220-330 grit in between coats.
Then prime the whole cabinet with 2-3 layer of primer and wet sand it with 500 grit.
The more primer you put in the better the paint will stick. The machined area will need a lot of primer and sanding to seal it. Primer is allot cheaper than paint.

3.For painting I do the same 2-3 coat of paint on the bevel or machined part only. Wet sand it lightly with 1000 grit in between coats. Then 1-2 coat on the entire cabinet and wet sand it lightly with 1000 grit. Spray more coat if needed.

  1. Clear coat
3-4 layers of clear coat and wet sand it with 1500 grit lightly just to knock off any tiny bumps. Wait until it dry and buff your cabinet the same way you buff your car and your caninet should shine like mirror.

By the way Iā€™m not a painter by trade if any of you guy out there work for an autobody shop feel free to chime in if what Iā€™m doing are incorrect.

I have not had a change to work on the VLX yet. I have been so busyā€¦
Hopfully I will be able to cut some parts this weekendā€¦
