I received some questions about how I installed my TV. Here’s what I did:

I used a piece of white melamine cut to fit within the
arches of the cabinet. About 10" tall x 33" wide (I think that’s the
dimension).

Then drilled a standard VESA 100x100 mm set of holes into
it. I found measured the center of the board and stood off 50mm from the
center in the x and y direction of the center point and drilled the
holes. Imagine holes at the corners of a square that is centered on the
board.

To make it easy to mount to the frame I drilled 4 pocket holes on
the piece of melamine on either end so that I could get to them screws
from the back without any cosmetic damage. I then found some nice long
M8 screws that allowed me to put a few washers between the TV and the
board and bolt it together.

A buddy helped me align the TV/melamine board inside the cabinet to get it flush with the bezel and centered. Then I simply screwed the pocket screws in to hold it all together.

Additional cost: $10. If you don’t have a pocket hole jig, add about $20 to that. If you don’t have a drill… you probably shouldn’t build one of these :)

I’m going to buy a second control panel for my viewlix. I’ll make current control panel into the “silent version” with silent sticks and buttons for the late night sessions. I have an idea for the art that I would like to use for the second. I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask (if somebody could point me in the right direction), but I’d like somebody to create the artwork for me. I would like it to look like the Sega New Net City control panel.

http://i37.tinypic.com/547si1.jpg

I think I found the right thread for this question, but I’ll see if somebody from this thread can help me as well.

The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

Just a heads up, trying to replicate a New Net City will be pretty damn hard to do. Seeing as how the artwork is printed out in silver foil.
Just a heads up for everyone. I installed the CPS2 system in my Kraylix and wanted to use the onboard RCA Q-Sound. I found a cheap 12V amp on amazon since the Q-Sound amps are extremely rare/expensive. Unfortunately, the AT style power supply fan translates a lot of noise throughout the cabinet which resulted in a lot of humming. To fix, I used a ground loop isolator, same thing used in Automotive applications to prevent alternator/generator whine. Works great. Probably a good idea to include one for any system, even if used with a PS3/XBOX setup that uses an external amp to drive the speakers. For a few bucks it cuts down on the noise significantly. If you go the JAMMA route in your cab like I did, a true Arcade power Supply probably will cut down the noise as well… so long as their is no fan in the system anywhere or you pull audio directly from the JAMMA edge.
I also shot him an email with how I mounted my TV so that he might consider making it a standard piece that comes in the kit. I think its a bit more versitile than the blocks he includes. I guess we will see what he says!
Here is the paper:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JOq0jkt3TrI#!

Not sure where if they make a long enough version, but it exists. If you google “metallic inkjet paper” you can find a lot of it. I think you could get the design fairly easy and take it to Kinkos with your own paper and have them run it through their large format paper… if you can get it big enough. Or the alternative is, do the silver as just part of the picture. It won’t come out as shiny or very glossy… but the idea would be there.
Can’t believe it’s already been over six months since I got my kit in the mail… this thing is taking forever to complete 100% haha. Just about everything is done except for the artwork, coin door and the custom usb selector/power harness I’m working on. I should have my art soon, a bud of mine runs a local print shop. He’s a bit of a flake though, told me it would be ready last week! I can’t complain, his work is top notch.

Thought I’d give you guys a sneak peek at my art, It’s based off rix9’s awesome work.
So im trying to order the happs coin door but for some reason the happs store dont want to show me how much is shipping…Anybody know another place to order the coin door?
I was going to buy mine from happ yesterday but figured I’d shop around first. Saved me $5 on shipping compared to happ’s flat rate.
Is that the same size for Krays?
if it fits let us know!
I couldn’t order from the SuzoHapp site so i called them…I ended up getting the coin doors without the fake coinslots…Anyway, i ordered 3 of them but the funny thing is that they couldn’t tell me how much the cost of shipping will be…Seriously WTF, anyway im suppose to find out tomorrow the cost of shipping after they ship it haha, this is going to be a trip to see how much it will cost.
lol let us know, could you post hte link to it as well?
It should be the same size as they use the same image as on the suzo happ site. They also mention in the description that it uses “industry standard mounting dimensions” so it should be the same. Either way I’ll let you guys know. I searched threw his feedback and no one gave him bad feedback on the door.
Finished mine the other day, thank clipse84 for showing the artwork, I just changed it to green instead of red to match my room.

Damn so i just check my credit card bill & they charge me $132…The total for the 3 coin doors was $81…So shipping/handling was $51 WTF are you serious…Im going to hopefully try to cancel, i called them & left a message…
Damn man that sucks. Whenever someone gives you the run around on shipping charges or wont tell you the price up front, chances are they’re going to mark up the price after you commit to the purchase. There are automated system to calculate shipping, even manually it takes just a few minutes. There’s no way 3 small sheets of metal will cost $50+ in shipping.
Happ always rob you for shipping, always. my coin door was like $32 I think and $22 for shipping (found after the fact), The coin door weighs nothing and came in a padded envelope not a box. Probably cost them about $5.00 on the high end to ship it since I am two states away from them.
These guys might be able to help you out. I needed to get my hands on a Happ power supply and the shipping was atrocious. This place shipped it for $5. Check them out and see if they have what you need.
