ok…I’ll post what’s been going on with my project. Basically I’ve just been getting all my art and parts together before I get my cabinet which is suppose to ship this week…but we will see how it goes.
First up the TV:

This is what I am using for seating and sound.
The surrond sound is a old set-up from my living room a while ago…I’ll have some new car speakers for the front of the cab…but these will live on the inside. The Ottoman trunk is something I got from work because I did all the work on the inside for the ROCKBAND games.

and then something to rumble the ass while you are playing…the buttkicker. I got the buttkicker a longtime ago for my racing games…but feel this will work out pretty good to give you that THX theater feel…LOL

These are the pieces of art I am applying to my translucent buttons. The art is print on acetate with heavy black ink. The idea is to create a silhouette of the art when the LED’s blast through.

nice start! i found at walmart the logitech 5.1 ss with sub on sale 4 69 bucks ,im thinking that …i also have my bro photoshopping my panel but he said he needs some help getting the pixelation out of the circles of the vewlix art on photoshop,he started a thread his name is davidhaight if any one could help ,thank you. got my lighting also ,2 24 inch lights. i also sanded back down all my cab bevels to repaint . Ive been screwwing with paint propertyz an such and finnally figuered out what the hell was keeping my mirror finish frosty looking …fucking cold mixed with flake in the paint was killing it!!!
i wasnt getting neer enough done also cause i would not stop playing it! advice: DO NOT ASSEMBLE TILL FINISH U WILL NOT DO SHIT BUT PLAY THE THING!!!
On a side note, thanks again krey for making a dream of mine true with this cab homeskillet!

Hello kray. I plan on building a stand similar to yours but having it be a 4 player stand. Do you mind if I contact you or anyone here for help or pointers for my build since i am new to wood work? Not sure if i can afford you(kray) or someone to build me one; so i am trying to save money and put in the time in to make mine.
Just wondering if you or anyone could be a contact for question when i hit roadblocks or if i have questions on how going about cutting, shaping and molding? Thanks guys

Where did you get the acetate custom art or how did you get it? I’ve been looking to do something similar for a while now to my buttons. I have clear Siemitsu buttons and I have been looking for a way to pretty much do exactly what you are talking about with the leds and such.
Any info you can give my will be appreciated.

I made the art in Illustrator…it’s based off of the Street Fighter manual move list art. I made it vector based…and did both regular and inverted version.
The regular versions for the 3 kick and 3 punch buttons…then the inverted were for the punchX3 button and the kickX3 button.
I traced out the Siemitsu inside button on paper…and then printed out my art until it matched up.
Once I knew the size…I made a huge sheet of the button designs and took the file to Kinko’s and had them print out the art on a 8.5X11 acetate sheet. The first print came out dull and more of a dark grey. I asked them if they could print darker…and he was able to print with a heavier ink which was able to block the light.
If you need the file…I could give you the png…it’s already sized up.

WOW! That would be awesome! I could really use that file. What kind of acetate should I use? Also, would I tell them to use the heavy black ink?
I never printed on acetate before so I’m not entirely sure on what to tell kinkos.

Whats the height on this unit and total depth?
Anyone here remember how long it took for the kit to be built? I will be picking mine up, and I just wanted to try and figure out when it’d be. I just reserved mine, but his site says january list is now closed so I assume its going to take at least a month.
It about 24in from the front edge of the CP to the center of the TV.
Here are the dimensioning. It about 29" from back to front CP edge or 24" from back to front cabinet.
Yea it takes about 4 weeks now and 5 if you want it painted.
