Oh so no you’re pissy just cause I made you look like an idiot in that other thread.

tas unlike you i don’t take things that fanboys say personally. i’m just stating an observation that you have yet to disprove.

What a child, what are you 10yrs old?
Hey be very careful, your parents might catch you on their computer using profanities and ground you.

Begone kid.

If nothing is worth your time and money then why are posting in a thread about SF figures huh?

And that Grave figure is one of the best figures ever made period, go check out the review SagatRyu posted

http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=634

You dont have to get all fucked over about it, just because you’ll never be able to get it, or that it makes every toy you own (if you actually own any since nothing is worth your time and money) look like total shit.

Kaiyodo is one of the best toy manufactures out there, if they started making SF (or any Capcom figures really) everyone would probaly be in awe at how fucking spectacular they look, but then get pissed because they’d be so expensive and that they already bought the SOTA figures.

God I cant believe those Marvel Selects are like $20, some of them look great but others dont, also cant Toy Biz (or whoever) make one good 6 inch (or whatever) Spider-Man that dosnt have a shitty paint job? I mean that one you linked is great (although his head is shaped weird) but the paint job on it looks really bad like alot of the Spidey figures in the recent years, because they carve gruves (sp?) into the figure for his webs and then spray this terrible black mist like paint over it that makes the figure look cheap, instead of actually painting the webs on.

The Multi-Jointed Spider-Man in the Animated Series line was one of the best Spidey figures Ive ever seen, hell most of the figures in that line were better then alotta of the Marvel figures they’re making now.

Although the best Spidey “figure” ever was that giant 20 inch one they released for Spider-Man 2 that you could basicly put in any pose imaginable, and I liked that toy but wish it hadnt been the movie one but rather the comic styled Spidey.

It was a joke, a joke at your expense.

Wow, You bad mouthing my toys??? Your younger than I thought.

Ok so the Grave Figure got 5 stars at Action-figure.com,
you may want to check this out, scroll down to the bottom of the page for the Sota SF reviews…

Sota Toys.

It seems to me AF.com gave great reviews for the Sota SF line, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going on the boards to tell the whole world that my Sota toys are better than anything anybody else ‘other than me’ owns.
That would be childish on my part, because to each is own right?

You might want to give up the whole “My Grave Figure is the best toy out in the market” rant,
because really IMHO…its not.:bgrin:

I think those Transformer Altenators are the best, but thats me…

The FACT is that the Grave figure is MADE better and IS better then the SF toys and its NOT just Grave is ALL of KAIYODO’s stuff, ie Evangelion, Spike Spielgel, the Trigun figures, the Love Hina figures, etc, etc, Grave was just the best example of ONE of their figures…

Love Hina Figures

I guess all that shows that Kaiyodo dosnt know how to make good figures and SOTA makes the best figures out there huh?

You’re acting like I have the figure genius.

And the POINT that you COMPLETELY missed was that KAIYODO was one of the BEST toy companies out there and that they would do the SF figures more JUSTICE then SOTA has.

You act like its the best thing since slice bread, moron.

That’s your opinion.

Note to tAz:
Its not the greatest idea to thrust your opinions on to others, they might just disagree with you.

I didn’t really like Kaiyodo’s Eva figures… too stylized for my tastes. 01’s head looks all scrunched-up and gross, and what’s with the pointy chins on the Harpies? Speaking of the Harpies (nickname for the MP’s, in case you’re confused), going by the movie’s animation they are supposed to have a different body build from the other Evas, with narrower shoulders and chest, an somewhat thicker waist and hips. From the photos I’ve seen, Kaiyodo might have gotten the latter right, but they definitely still have the broad shoulders.

I had the EX version 01 (big box, butt-load of accessories), and while they didn’t really do justice to my view of the Evas, quality-wise, they probably were the best around (possibly aside from the posable models that needed to be built and painted).

the only problem the reveiw had with the Gungrave Figure was it not in proportion with the Trigun basic figures.

now if you want bad articulation scores you should check out some of the reveiws for McFarlane’s stuff

Yeah that kinda sucks, no Grave Vs Vash (proportioned) toy battle for us, alhtough Grave is pretty hugh anyway.

After seeing the Grave figure though it does seem like the Vash figure could’ve been done better. Actually the Vash figure dosnt seem that great compared to some of Kaiyodo’s other stuff, ie the articulation is great but the glossy paint dosnt look good, infact almost all glossy paint jobs on figures (which is the standard in the industry) usualy look like shit, where as the smooth paint jobs that alotta smaller companies do, make figures look worlds better.

UGH I HATE MCFARLANE’s STUFF!

They basicly make nice looking figures, but thats it they’re just made to look nice, and basicly made in poses, ie if you move their “joints” they dont look right or look outta pose.

Do you mean stylized as in the fact that they’re made to be put into a bunch of poses, or do you mean too stylized in the way they actually look, because visualy I always thought they looked just like they do in the series, excpet the ones with the ugly metalic paint and the clear ones.

Well the quality of the plastic is pretty bad, but all the shit they come with and all the poses you can put them in make up for it, plus they kinda have an excuse since those were the first figures they made like that.

I just saw those Kaiyodo models the other day, they do loook better then the figures.

wow this must be a first tas being civil well that and the fact that fc pretty muuch had him speechless.

You must not have seen very many of my posts then.

I just used one of his own statements against him, no need to type something when he already did it for me.

What in the heck? I just caught the tale end of this.

Ok Tas… Yeah the paint jobs do suck for Spiderman Classics/Legends but for the reasonable avaiablity and the $7 price tag you can’t knock em too much.

Kaiyodo makes great figures. I have 2 Eva figures but the joints ar e loose and the wrist parts have popped out. Err anyway. The thing is that Kaiyodo figures cost more and aren’t nearly as widely avaiable as Street Fighter figures are.

You also have to think about the fact that Sota plans to do Alpha - 3rd strike. That’s a lot of characters to do. And they release about 3 rounds a year. They are also a smaller company then Kaiyodo.

Do you really think that Kaiyodo would produce every single figure and listen to fans as much as Sota does? I highly doubt it. Also SOTA’s figures are a combination of Udon’s and all other art. They are trying to find the best look for each character. If you haven’t noticed, UDON basiclly does all the new street fighter and Darkstalkers art. And didn’t Capcom JP give SF to Capcom USA? If Kaiyodo got a hold of the license then we’d never see the likes of a Psycho Bison or a Birdie figure. We’d probably get the top 10 favorites and that’s it. And they woudln’t fit to scale with Marvel Legends which is a huge selling point. “Everyone” loves the idea of pitting Blanka and Beast against Ryu and Cyclops. It’s a neat way to stream line all the figures (I don’t have shelf space for 7 inch figures and what is this talk about High Dream’s figures being the size of pop cans? They are 7 inches in height. Period.) and lets fans recreate classic Vs. battles.

So unlike you, I am happy with what Sota is doing to the series. There is chance that we can see every character in every game. It’s also keeping this Street Fighter 15th Anniversery momentum going. If Kaiyodo were in the same place as SOTA I think we’d get similar quality figures.

And most of all dude. Just chill. Turn that hissy fit crap off.

The Spider-Man animated series figures had better paint jobs and they were only $6, like Spidey’s webs for instance were always painted on, they never did that crap with the groves and the black spray.

I didnt mean specificly Kaiyodo, just a company that would do it as good as them.

No they arent. Its all SOTA’s style.

If they were actually combination of the styles they wouldnt look like that, for instance none of Bengus’, Akiman’s, Edayan’s, Kinu’s, Shinkiro’s, or Alvin Lee’s art looks like that, nor would they if you’d combine them because all of them (aside from Shinkiro) have a similar way of drawing the characters. Actually Alvin’s way of drawing the characters is actually more like a combination of the SF Capcom artists stuff.

SOTA is doing them in their own style, they are doing them in the same style the Marvel figures are done in, ie they want all their figures to be in the same style.

Yeah right. Ryu has got to be one of the ugliest of all of the chars they’ve done, and if they cant get him right then whats that saying?

The thing is the SOTA figures are done in more of a realistic style rather then an artistic style, and the SF chars were never meant to be portrayed that way, and when they are they come off looking ugly, case and point SFEX3.

No they dont, they just do the SF and DS comics.

The last time Capcom put out any new SF artwork it was for the 15th Anniversary and I dont remember seeing UDON doing any of that art.

Nobody knows the full details of that or what happend, ie Capcom of Japan could’ve just sold them the name, or the merhcandising rights, or whatever.

I seriously doubt youll see SF1 chars like Retsu, Geki, Joe, and Lee produdced.

Momentum? The SF15th Anniversary stuff died out awhile ago, I wouldnt consider there to still be momentum from it. Id consider there to still be some SF momentum with the new comic and toys, but thats about it.

I forgot that the Wave 2 figures actually look more like cartoonish, and its probaly the best of all the waves out there.

Oh and I was wondering about something, why the hell does SOTA put that joint in the middle of the figure’s chest? Its totaly worthless and makes the figs look worse, speccialy when they could do a rounded joint at the waist (like the 80s GI JOE toys) and have to same type of movement. See thats another thing I dont like about them, they’re sacrificing appearence for articulation, and arent even trying to hide the articulation at all. I mean I thought that was the progression of figures, that they would look better, have more articulation, and get better at hiding articulation.

And thanks for linking that last one, cause thats how Ryu should look I didnt relize it was a custom head at first, and was like “hey how come Ive never seen that Ryu head?” and his SF2 colors combined with his SF3 black hair just make him look truly amazing (thats actually my favorite version of Ryu, but I dont think its ever been in a game, SF2 colors, with SF3 hair) See Id actually get the Ryu figure if it looked like the one in that thread.

Its sad that a single fan made better head sculpts then a proffesional company, ie it just looks bad when some nobody can be like “here this is how it should be done” and basicly have everyone agree with him over the company.

EDIT:

Sagatryu since you know so much about all these toys and are good at finding them or whatever, try to find me a pic of the Ryu World Warrior figure, because I cant seem to find it anywhere anymore. The figure is highly articulated and features real clothing (even his pads are removable)
