Anyone here already have SOTA's round 2 SF figures?

Guile looks good…he’ll be out this summer sometime…

Yun and Yang?, I think they’ve been in the voting, but got beat every time…

Got my Blanka and T. Hawk today, which means I have all the basic Series 1 and 2 figures now!

plus the Variant Grey Ryu…

loving these things…

i can’t wait to add adon and balrog to the collection  blanka looks great ppl were just complaining that he was too dark green imo he is way better sculpted than the resaurus version

In round three, I think I’m not gonna get Adon…

Balrog, gotta get him because he’s a grand champion
Guile, gotta get him because he’s fucking GUILE!
Sakura, gotta get her because she’s awesome
Gen, he’s an old man with a death wish, gotta love it!
Adon?, he’s Sagat Lite, no need to waste my time with him…

tho, he does look good…

Ouch. Don’t let Adon hear that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, I don’t have any SOTA figs yet (no places nearby that carry them), but from what I’ve seen, they’re so awesome I might have to end up ordering some online. From what I’ve heard, SOTA’s also got their first 4 Darkstakers figures planned; Morrigan, Demitri, Anakaris, and Lord Raptor/Zabel.

Anyone else?

adon would be a cool char to pose with sagat, i wouldn’t call adon a sagat light… at least adon doesn’t have moves that resemble sagat’s in any way. the shoto clones, and charlie/guile on the other hand…

SF Round 2 was amazing. My Blanka broke his leg when he fell of the dresser, though. That’s OK, I’ll just get another one. Overall, they’re so great, I might just order from a toystore in the Far East and eat the shipping cost just to get them early!

You know I think its cool that there’s a company out there making SF figs for everyone, however Im probaly the only SF fan here that dosnt like them.

To me they seem a little on the small side (I guess cause they’re supposed to be on scale with the Marvel Select figures) and I dont like the style, ie they arent done in Capcom’s style, or UDON’s style, or whatever, but more of an American style (SOTA’s style Id guess you’d say)

There are some figures that theyve made that I think look cool, like the newest line they released pics of. It does seem like the figure sculpts (or whatever) get better with each line though.

Im just wondering why no major Japanese toy company never did any really kick ass SF figures, a company like Kaiyodo or somebody, ie Id like to be able to compare the American (SOTA) ones to the Japanese ones, rahter then just the SOTA to Reasaruss ones, or to the GI JOE ones even.

Do you guys like Highdreams corp. SF figures?

I don’t like them that much, but their Akuma kicks ass!!

No, those figs suck, I saw them last week in a comic shop. They’re really small and just look plain ugly.

And thats just a prototype of Akuma, the final version dosnt look anywhere near that good.

What are you talking about?they are not small at all.Actually,I believe they are 7 inches and larger than sota’s. And they have NOT shown a finalized Akuma yet,so you can’t say that(unless you can see in to the future).I think the Chun Li and Mai look FANTASTIC.And the akuma looks very nice!Be getting them for sure.

Those figs are pretty small, they’re about as big a as a coke can with the tab pulled straight up, and are about the same width (as a soda can too)

I meant to say it wont look that good. The actual figures never look as good as the prototypes, just look at SOTA’s prototype of the Ryu figure.

And here’s the way Id do a Ryu figure

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/TAS_4287/Street%20Fighter/ryufigureconcept.jpg

(the dotted lines are where the joints would be, and the ones in his feet/ankles would be hidden by the bottom of the gi pants)

The thing is I just dont consider any of the SF figures Ive ever seen to be real quality figures, ie ones that really do the games, animes, comics, Capcom, or whatever justice.

Now let me show you/everyone an example of what I consider to be an amazing, exceptional, quality, etc, etc, figure.

Beyond The Grave (Gungrave)

Standard Strait Up Pose

Action Shots/Poses

And yes that is an actual action figure that you can pose with insane articulation that is hidden amazingly well, and even though thats the prototype the actual product looks just as good.

That figure was made by Kaiyodo the company I mentioned earlier, and I would REALLY LOVE to see some SF figures (or just any Capcom figures) done by them really (they’d no doubt make a really good Dante given the above example of Grave)

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, these figures are great. I’ll take these over Marvel Legends any day.

I have all the figures, plus the Player 2 variants from Round Two. In fact, I just got the reviews up for Cammy, Vega and T.Hawk up today:

As for the High Dream stuff, I’d like to pick up Ken and do a review. They look a lot alike the Guilty Gear figures - they have the exact same type of articulation and I loved the GG figs. I’m just not crazy about the hard sculpt lines in their faces.

I love my Gungrave figure. He’s probably my favorite piece in my entire collection. Plus, my Gazelle the Peacemaker figure is expected to arrive soon. Although I hear he’s not as well made as Gungrave, he still looks amazing.

Do you know anything about any SF figures?
It seem like you just love to rant about figures you haven’t even seen before.

Oh Im sorry you must not of read my posts, cause if you had you’d know I would.

There are NO and I reapeat NO really great SF figures out there. NONE of them are made with high production values, casue if they did they’d be like $20 each.

Wrong you fucking moron.

Ive seen the SOTA ones, the Kenner ones, the Toy Biz ones, the Japanese ones pictured above, and even some illegal ones that have no company name on them.

You obviously dont know jack shit about what is and isnt a great figure, or figures. That Grave figure (I linked above) is a GREAT/AMAZING/EXCELLENT figure, unlike basicly all the SF figures out there that are just average, and they are always going to be “average” until someone like Kaiyodo steps up to the plate.

The best SF figure Ive probaly seen is probaly the Ryu World Warrior figure, although it just happens to be the rarest SF figure out there.

Actually the Rotocast Figures are 24$

http://board.spawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149680

But thats only because of their size, ie most all “figures” that size are around $20. I actually dont consider those figures either, dont know why. I think once you hit 10 inches it no longer becomes an action figure, ie at that height they just seem like something diffrient.

Anyways the Kaiyodo figures are always on average about 8 inches but go for $20+, although that could be cause here in the US the prices are jacked up do to importing. I forget how much their figures run in Japan on average.
