Anyone knows any arcades or places to play some games with folks? I can handle japanese, sort of…
Also, are there any places to get game merch around here or do I have to go to Den Den Town in Osaka?

Kyoto i think is known for the acho arcades?
Kyoto area is very quiet to the point people there are indifferent i think you better off going to more lively cities like osaka or tokyo
If you’re after gaming ephemera Tokyo is the place
Especially Akihabara if you’re after retro gaming gear, they do also have an arcade parts shop Mak, they have a decent range of actual arcade parts (jamma boards, sega naomi, etc) but the selection of buttons/levers/etc for custom builds is a bit limited
