Anyone else not buying into the SFV hype?

Yeah I was waiting for today’s patch notes; He just repeated what we already know… What are Capcom employees taught? It’s ironic how many times they claim to have learnt from past mistakes.

Some of the things he mentioned further homogenize the characters; However, It brings potential via a reset to neutral so guess we’ll have to see. Some interesting changes so far for some characters, (Bison,) Still, I too want some new additions to the system itself. I haven’t found a main & there hasn’t been anything interesting mentioned to make me want to try them again.

I wish we’d see crazy V-triggers like Instinct mode from KI. A huge part of Trigger is the extra combo reset and many are hesitant to use Trigger outside of that, making a move safe or desperation.

Imagine Gief with Stoneskin (perma armor and no hitstun on lights and mediums like Gargos,) successfully using his v-skill in this mode would give him a small amount of grey HP back. He walks slower, but now has green hand.

New characters is good, quite risky though. In comparison to the glory days of super, Alpha & III days, (Even SF 4.) They now create with fear in mind. Look at the new Juri & Ibuki. Necalli is cool (not for me though,) Rashid & Laura are decent but I feel they lack in specials. In III all the newcomers had like 5 specials and 3 supers. You would see multiple supers and ex’s used. Now it’s quite hard to utilize supers/V-trigger too (since ex and v-reversals for 3 bar can be expensive.) I have seen notes on some of them brought to 2 bars so that’s a good start.

They even consider nerfing dp reversals and things like Cammy’s dive kick. Who thought they were a problem? On the bright side, now they can experience the fear grappler mix-ups can deal; Have fun using jump back tech OS.

I’d rather watch a solid Gen than R.Mika spamming whip, cornering, setup after setup of ambiguous mix-ups. How many times in Canada/Cap Cup did Nuckledu dizzy or perfect someone? No one was able to handle his corner guessing game and that damage.

Nerfed characters and no returning classic characters is not hype.

I said it in the beta… but if Birdie got recoverable grey health back from neutral v skill (donut) that would be interesting (fun) and reward the player for effectively zoning and punishing the opponent for running away from him by allowing that grey health to regen. It could be minuscule like a blocked mp amount or even half that per donut.

He already has to place his buttons so well that any over extension and he’s easily punished with a lk or lp whiff punish into special which if knocked down will force him into a crummy wake up situation where he has to rely on meter anyways for a reversal… which is throwable.

They gave him so much health but it’s only purpose really is the fact he has to actually play footsies and get in people’s face to be threatening but his range game is almost just as good so why not give him that extra edge so he embraces that smart tank gameplay he already has going for him? The further away he’s able to play the more you have to read the opponents movement but a wrong read will leave him open to punish since he’s so big anyways. Up close he does more damage but risks meaty pressure on knock down and is dependent on ex for it.

It wouldn’t over power him it would make smart zoning be the plan A that relies on more thought. Keep his up close the more outright damaging option as secondary since he can’t afford to be knocked down since his options are so limited… the health boost over other characters is a moot point cus of how high stun is universally in this game.

No one would donut for that much gray health lol. Not worth.

From that page it says the donut frame data is 52 total, his whiff killing head is 59. Players will whiff that command grab for meter. It’s fast enough to do two-three behind the banana v skill. Point is it’s fast enough to squeeze in multiple ones during the round. So instead of chasing the opponent from corner to corner giving that threat to gain health back as an option gives his offense a boost if used well. You’ll be able to do four maybe five of them (even more) if you make it apart of your gameplay. You mix it up and gives him a mind game he didn’t really have for choosing to use donut.

Mika gets command grab buff for her mic and players will use it when it’s safe to do so. Birdie gets extra chances to v skill since he can play from further away than her.

You’re already able to do it multiple times per round because it’s so fast but the pressure from can and banana trump donut because of the pressure gained from them. Giving the donut that small boost adds a different kind of mind game that makes the opponent look to punish it by preempting the move.

It’s not supposed to be a big health gain with just one your supposed to be pounding donuts when you create opportunities to do so.

fuck this game laaaalalaaa this game suuucks lalalalalaaaa!

dont mind me, carry on. stop wasting time debating please, this game does not deserve to be debated over. sing along!

capcom: " sorry for the 8 frame delay, we know you can’t react or anti air. we give you -strong anti-air light attacks- as a compliment!"

lol.

well it’s bad for combofiend that his real name is exposed(PETER ROSAS). No serious company will ever want to employ him after his street fighter 5 botch. I wouldn’t employ him, even to mop.

Reminds me, I still havent used this.
It sums most “game x sucks, because game y is better perfect up.”

If it’s enough to get out of a CA chip situation, it’s enough for them lol.

You’re right that A2 is simple. Doesn’t stop it from being a top 5 fighting game even to this day. Same with ST, same with MvC2.

SFV I’m still undecided on (yes, still) because it feels very different from any other SF. It’s as if they tried mashing up mechanics from different Street fighters with no goal in mind.

Edit: Marvel 2 isn’t simple, it’s just old like the other 2 I listed.

Well thats how ppl feel when mika does her rope throw. I guess thats a huge reason why ppl hate mika so much .

Same shit netcode and servers.

I can’t play tonight. I keep getting disconnected on almost every match on ranked. Is it just me?

No it was like that for a lot of people. I was completely locked out of online. The netcode got no changes so I didn’t intended to play online, but it wasn’t even an available option period.

Ive been playing 4 for a while.

take chain/link registration bullshit and balance chars out, 4 is perfect.

Tbh I think this game is a piece of trash, I enjoy the gameplay but I’ve had nothing but problems since the game dropped…the matchmaking system sucks cock, in beta phase I got matches instantly with people in my region and since drop it takes 20-30mins for a match and it’s usually with someone in NA and I’m from England…

If you’re waiting that long for a match, something is seriously wrong with your connection. That’s not the norm.

Plus I’m in the US and I don’t think I’ve ever been matched with someone in England. Once I got matched with someone in China though. But that was one time out of idk how many hundred matches.

It took me ages to get a match and i’m up north of Seattle with an above average connection that kills large downloads in no time and runs fine in every other game that isn’t SF5. Tonyyy is right, the game is just a piece of trash.

Wait, you actually play the game? After all the complaints and rants you made here and on steam forums I imagined that you had deleted the game/throwed the disc out of the window.

They love to hate Street Fighter V

They’re waiting for it to become USF4 ;^)
