Anyone else not buying into the SFV hype?

I like games that don’t require me to be a training room monster. I like to learn through matches.

I like both man

when I play basketball sometimes I just practice shooting, sometimes I play pickup games. I think of it like that

Actually this is me too LOL

Shush, NG1313 is gonna have an existential crisis when he realizes he “Liked” an anti-SFV post.

Yes - I am just about to melt down.

The worst thing about this game though is how dlc heavy the game tries to nickle and dime you.
25 buck for a stage 1 color for every character and 3 alternate costumes for characters you may not even play.
I actually like the samurai necalli uniform and am using him as a secondary to my birdie which only has 1 secondary outfit.

Bit weird that chun li gets like 3 extra outfits and some characters only have 2 tops.

the CPT dlc is a special case. 80% of the proceeds go to the CPT prize pool and funding of events.

Let me get this straight

Haven’t you heard ?

Now with the Halloween DLC, Cammy is our new queen. Spread the word, Cammy has the most outfits as of the October update.

CPT dlc is a special case, still hard to justify the price though. Dota does the same thing but you get far more out of it; You get more rewards, plenty of fun/silly quests that help get better rewards. And if you want, can just spend money to get the stuff faster.

Then dont buy the dlc bundle? If you’re only interested in the stage, buy it solo.

Yes, the pricing is rather heavy, but even if the whole bundle would be 5-10 bucks I would be hesitating because I dont play any of the characters that got a costume, have no interest in the colour and the stage is rather “meh” in my opinion

street fighter 5 is stupid. one month no sf and proud.

sorry but no technical comment for you, this is just stupid. no need to comment on the technicalities. no. no “frame” , no “input delay” comments. plain and simple, this game is shit. stop pretending.

capcom made this game for a reason, to milk noobs. I know you’ll bash on me. who cares. this game is a noob fest designed for noobs. rise up noobs!

Alpha 2 is simple like this game also.

No, A2 was awesome

Alpha 2 was a lot of fun, you could land more than 2 jabs on block before being pushed away, it felt good to play, the soundtrack was better, the roster was better, the game speed was better, the moves had better hitboxes, and the list goes on.

Yeah I don’t get A2-sf5 comparisons at all. A2 was huge damage via CC, fast, ridiculous pokes, no backdashing to escape bad neutral situations, lots of buttons without the random button factor, very strong AA etc etc etc

A2 was the greatest. Only problem the game had was that it could get a bit turtly. But still look at this offensive masterpiece from evo with both characters moving toward each other, not away… the way fighting games should be played:

SF V doesn’t sit comfortably anywhere, what’s more people are barely playing after 6 months let alone 6 years, most people have quit I cannot possibly see how they can keep it going. It’s gonna need more than Akuma.

SFV is my first SF I’m taking seriously and haven’t seen much A2 game play since I grew up with CvS2 and SolCal2

But this doesn’t look any different than SFV neutral. Like not even baiting. SF2 neutral looks different by a metric fuck ton. Not shitting on the game because I like how it’s looks but I’m not seeing it.

I’m sure if I played it competitively or at least semi competent I’d have a different outlook.

A2 is the simplest old school SF game. It’s not very tech heavy and the tech that is there is either rather easy to execute or not entirely essential for winning matches. There isn’t much emphasis on link combos as well. Which is a lot of the similar principles that SFV goes on. It’s essentially the easiest SF game to teach someone new to SF. You don’t have to get on a lab coat to play the game and there isn’t a ton of execution heavy combos and setups.

A SFV Karin player you could show A2 Rose to and they would get it pretty quickly.

Last time I played back in like 2009 I was using Chun against Watsons Ryu and I shit you not I was taking rounds with nothing but standing fierce and cr.mk and walk up throw.

That’s what I get from looking at A2 footage. It looks fun and accessible like SFV just with better normals lmao
