so, can you play mk cards in sf decks as long as they don’t have a character’s name in em? like, can you play catfight in a ryu deck?
Yeah, I guess you guys are right. Like I said, I know jack about card battle games, but I can understand for gameplay purposes the reason for multiple duplicates.
But since I really have no intention of playing it (since I know of no one who plays these games), and am only getting it for the sole purpose of increasing my collection of SF stuff, no more starter decks for me. I’ll just be picking up boosters.
Catfight can go in any deck, but only once.
haha, just picked mines up today, got me the starter pack and a booster. I got me sucky Sean, kick a$$ Dudley and Rare Elena :). Ima go get me another booster tomorrow
Sean isn’t half bad, as he keeps your opponent from storing energy and forces either discards or extra chip damage.
Sean is so annoying. Just poke all day and it’s a massive pain in the ass.

Didn’t see these cards when I went to Blockbuster 2 weeks ago. I’ll check again when I can.
From what I can tell the blockbusters got 10 starters and 20 boosters, 1/2 SF and 1/2 MK. If they have them, it should be on an endcap display with the Yugioh and Pokemon cards. All the ones that I have seen have a little display card above them that says “Epic Battles.”
Of course, most of the BBs that I have been to only have the display card and the SF cards are long gone. Of course, not wanting to waste retail floor space, they always put pokemon cards in their place.

Still no cards in canada, btw. This makes me ridiculously sad. I’m almost tempted to go play VS systems to hold me over.
Dudley is trash. He can’t use any kick cards whatsoever. Contrast that to Elena, who can use punch cards AS kick cards. Maybe as more expansions come out and there is a wider variety of punch cards to choose from, Dudley might get better. As of right now, he doesn’t have enough to work with.
There’s still punch, throw, and projectile. Just shove in tons of zero cost punches and you’re good to go. But yah, too bad there’s only 2 punch-punch cards in the SF set: Sparring and… I can’t remember the other one. Busted and Shadaloo Warrior are ridiculous events for dudley though. He can bust long ass combos and can always finish with a super if you have it in hand.

The one I went to just had Teen Titans cards. I’ll check again either tommorow or Friday. If not I’ll call up other Blockbuster spots and see if they have them.
Finally found them at a Blockbuster very far from my regular circles, gonna try a closer one next time. I bought a starter pack that came with Ryu and a single pack that came with Alex. Also picked up a Mortal Kombat singles pack. I think I’ll stick to SF cards, I’m not much for MK even with Udon’s art. I’ll try to pick up a pack a week or so. I don’t really play card games so I’ll just be collecting. I hope Epic picks up the rights to KOF or Guilty Gear.

Can anyone from NY who plays the game tell me where epic battle games are held, like card stores or whatever… or if any tournaments in the area are being set up…?
They had them at my Blockbuster. Had a deal for buy 3 boosters get 1 free. I didnt buy any or have any plans to but thought it might help some of you out.
