The problem with these games is you have to buy a shit load of cards to have a good deck. It can get expensive. i may buy a few loose cads of my favorite chracters (if even that) but Im not gonna be playing the game.

I allways wanted a card game with street fighter in it. Hopefully this will be good it sounds good. They plan on doing MK SF rival schools tekken DS. They are trying to get as many companies as possible. It sounds good so far these are whats going to be in the sets.

Well, 2 more weeks from now epic battles will be at your local blockbuster. The new site is up at http://www.epicbattlestcg.com/ . They are releasing the card info and stuff on the site little by little untill the game comes out. September 15 people lets get some cards 
How much are they gonna cost?
Chances are they’ll be like 5 in the UK. And that’s a hefty price.
I just mainly want to collect the SF lot, and don’t intend on playing with them.
September 15 though…man, too much in September. Advent Children is costing a fortune as it is. Oh well, looks like I’ll have to walk home from college and not eat out.

I would just get an Akuma and a DEATH card. I would not collect to fight at all. Street Fighter is meant for joystick play!
Well, in USD its going to be around $14 for a starter deck and $4 for a booster pack.
Hmm, then I’ll expect it to be 10 for a Starter Deck and 4 for the booster packs (assuming someone like Forbidden Planet gets them).
I guess I could just import them some way, but customs is so unfair these days.
Is it just me, or are some of the cards somewhat confusingly worded? For example, Hugo: “When a throw is damaged from your deck…” Does that mean “when a throw does damage to you,” “when you discard a throw card while taking damage,” or something else?
That is confusing. A shame I don’t intend on playing it, so I guess it wont affect people like me.
Two additional problems:
Elena’s Brave Dance: “Remove after use.” I thought attack cards went to the “energy pile.” Does the Brave Dance get removed from the game, or what?
Also, can only Elena use that card? I don’t see anything in the rules about whether or not a character’s specials are only usable by that character. In fact, it looks to me like anyone can use anyone’s specials–otherwise, Tiger Uppercut is pretty useless. Guess I answered my own question.
It occurs to me that I sound pretty down on the game. That’s not my intention at all. I think it’s got a promisingly straightforward design and has a lot of potential. I’m just afraid that the game–like so many other T/CCGs–is going to end up with problems down the road because the first set has odd wordings.
Anyone see a way to contact a rules person over there? I’m a little wary of their board’s privacy policy.
in the game, you use cards as your “energy bar”, so when you get attacked and you either get chipped or full energy, you remove cards from your deck, so when they say, when you discard a throw card while taking damage, i believe that means in the event that you remove a throw card from your energy deck…
yeah, some cards get removed from the game completely, so they are given one use per battle, as for character cards, the rule is that moves with a character’s name in it are only exclusive to the characters whose name appears in the move title… ie Ryu’s shinku hadoken can only be used by Ryu, Sean’s Tackle can only be used by Sean… Tiger Uppercut, pursuant to the name rule, can be used by anyone, which makes sense since a Sagat character card hasn’t even been announced for either Round 1 or Round 2…
the game is really easy, there are some rhetorical problems in every game, but for the most part, this game is just straight up rock em sock em, if you get familiar with the few rules, you should be able to play the game with ease
I agree that that’s how the mechanic works…I think you’ve got the sensible interpretation, I just wish they could’ve worded the card differently.
I forgot that cards get recycled. That makes sense then.
That’s sensible too, but is it in the rules anywhere? Not trying to pick a fight, just hoping it is. It’s a pain when an argument starts over the rules and there’s no official source to back up either answer.
Yea it is the rules that you can only play cards with a characters name if it’s yours. Tiger uppercut doesn’t have a name so you can play it with any deck. Sean Tackle and Ryu’s Shin Shoryuken have names which are only allowed if you have the appropriate character. The official wording is.
Deck Construction: Your deck must match exactly 61 cards (1 character and 60 cards.) You can have 4 copies of any card in your deck unless the card restricts itself.** Any card in your deck with a character’s name in the title must match the name of the character you are playing.** Any card that states that it is “only” for a certain game can only appear in a deck that uses a character from that game.

EDIT: Circular: For Hugo’s ability, if you take damage and one of the cards you discard from your deck (where you draw from) is a throw and you have less than 8 energy, you move that card into your energy pile (pile of cards you need to pay for other card costs) instead of your discard pile.
