I know points don’t really matter but it kinda bothers me that I’m a B rank under 5000 points (I won’t say exactly how down but pretty far below 5000 lol) Not to mention it changes your matchmaking options. Now anytime I choose same I get matched with B ranks way above 5000 and if I choose any I get D ranks who give me like 10 points for winning or -200000000 for losing. Kinda feel like I’m a “C” player right now and I’d liek to be matched with other “C” players y’know? And yeah I know endless is technically better but I’m very impatient and don’t feel like waiting in a lobby.
Then again maybe I’m just bitching for no reason. I’ve heard the best way to get better is to play people better than you so perhaps it isn’t so bad after all. What do you guys think? Do you improve more playing people on your level or playing people way better?
It’s discouraging for players who have reached their top, because they will continuously lose points. I mean, if your level is around C+ you will reach B soon or latter, no matter what, since you got a positive winning percentage.
That’s why I like how it works for MvC3. Because you can taste the next level, but if you’re not good enough you rank down, so you don’t get continuously raped.
Yeah I don’t know it’s weird. I hit B pretty easily and then I put the game down for a week, came back and now B ranks tear me apart 8/10 times while C ranks are like 50/50. Sounds like people just got better and I haven’t fully adapted yet. I’ve got my moment’s where I know what I did wrong and then there’s games where it happens so fast I’m not sure exactly how I could’ve avoided the loss.
I feel the same way. I got up to 998 BP (Yep, 2 points/1 win away from my rank and achievement. Very soul crushing.) a few weeks ago, then suddenly everyone’s game got way better (that or they all simultaneously realized how op the assist gems are). Now I’m struggling to keep around 200 BP and am constantly being forced to fight C ranks that are maybe a win or two away from C+. It gets quite frustrating, especially after managing to get a win streak going just for a sudden wave of high C’s to take you back down.

Anyway, I’ve been playing fighting games for years and there’s a lot of things I HATE about this game but I’m strangely addicted to it.
I’ve been up to C+ rank and all the way back down to D+ rank… and than back up… and than back down… and than back up currently sitting at C rank steadily but it will probably drop again… I just don’t give a @#$#@ anymore.
I stopped setting my match making to “same” skill level and just set it to “any” now… I don’t care about BP points and it’s just more fun, Going up against A and B rank players is fun, lots of turtles and spammers but many of the higher ranks actually know how to pull off combos. And sneaking a win on them feels pretty good.
heh.HAHAHAHAH im class A+ Rank and i know how you guys feel. im forced to choose Any skill instead of same skill because theres nobody my area. which really dont bother me because i fight a range specrum of fighters to those who know there characters to those who are more on unexpected and unpredictabel. which helps me improve my game.
Really? So I believe to get back to a C I’d need to hit 2500 again… I’m not there yet lol but my losing streak keeps going the way it is and I’ll hit it in a few weeks. I really don’t mind. Just gives me a chance to improve.
Yup, pretty much the same way BP works in AE. Know from personal experience because my Rose ranked down in Super and hasn’t been a B rank since. Had a maaaaaaad long losing streak. -_-

I still play ranked here and there but I try to give less of a damn every day. XD
I got to rank B then had a huge losing streak and dropped to 4800 BP. Then the next day my head was clear and I went back over the mark. Not been able to make 6k yet. Sucks for me because I was Rank A with Sakura in SSF4 but I just can’t seem to improve in SFxT no matter what I try.
