Anybody interested in a Bag for their Fight stick?

I had this made for going to Evo. My girl is nice with the sewing machine, it still took forever though.

I’m wondering if y’all would be interested in these.

Most of the pics are here, had some colors photoshopped.

This is the basic.

Tell me if y’all want this, go questions, or should I go back the drawing board, or whatever.

Put this in the trading outlet you might gauge interest

I personally love the kimono stylings, but I’m sure a lot of members here wouldn’t really want to rock that. Big ups to your girlfriend though for putting together such a professional design.

Thanks, I put it up over there.

I took it to Next Level and they liked it, but kimono silk was mad expensive. The new jawn is just like those Chrome bags and my jansport.

These look cool.

Say guys,

Do ANY of you actually read the stickies???

Guess what —? Esquire can’t post in the Trading Forums/Trading Outlet yet!

Know why??? He hasn’t been a member long enough (at LEAST 6 months) and doesn’t have enough messages posted!

People usually have enough messages posted but they seem to have a problem waiting… He can still sell on eBay or Bonanza but not here until he’s been here half a year.

FYI, I’ve been nice by comparison to what’s been done in the past. The older members would have torn any of you a new one for rule infractions.

There’s a good reason or two for the rules… It’s to protect members as much as possible. There’d be a ton of people joining up and splitting after a few days because they sold to some gullible people…

EsquireatJSBdotCom and cmr2 are the same person?

Hurm…

Yeah, we’re the same person. I had to hunt down my old account, cause it’s a attached to an email I don’t use any more.

This is the trading outpost link

It’s not for sale currently, cause I don’t know what the demand is really like, or what people really want out of a fightstick bag.

If 100 folks are interested, then I can talk to the manufacturer and negotiate a good price.

any problems, y’all can hit me on the pm.

The 2 spaces on top of the bag that provide cushioning(?), with the space to allow for a joystick.
Are those spaces filled with anything, are those dividers have anything solid or reenforced inside, or are they meant for storage space?
I can see those 2 dividers willed with some kind of foam.

Although the 2 account thing is confusing me.

  1. 2 spaces are if you want throw in a book or something. I figured that folks would still want to rock the bag without the stick, might as well have some compartments.

  2. Dividers are full of foam. The first joint we did they were made with plastic (red and green). She cut up some folders and sewed around them. The professionals (the navy and lt blue) went with a hard foam.

I mostly lurk and forgot that account altogehter. Not trying to be shady

Watching this thread to see if this is legit. If this is, then I’ll give it the “Tech Talk pass on the 50 post selling limit” for putting out an actual useful product.

I reposted in Outpost. Delete if you want to.

Still interested in ideas if you guys over here have any.

I love the idea, and it’s nice to see someone working it out and asking for feedback. I’ve been looking for a good bag for a while, and while there are some out there, none have seemed to “jump out at me.” Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places, I dunno.

First thing is, I went to that webpage to look at pictures like you said, but it’s locked out by a password.

As for the designs, I really like the padded, silk-lined interior on the first one, but the overall construction of the second one looks MUCH better. I’m sure some of it has to do with hand-made vs machine-made. don’t get me wrong, a soft back would be super nice, but against the elements, stains, bumps, drops, etc., I think the second one (“basic” I think?) will send the test of time a lot better. It would be nice if the outside material was somehow “resistant” to liquids, just in case of it pouring outside, or random guy with a soda goes OOPS! all over you bag. Also, the “basic” seems to hold its form a lot better, so it looks more like an everyday messenger bag (that’s a good thing imo.)

Also, while I do really like the “slot” for the joystick, I immediately have to ask: is there any “additional support” for the actual joystick piece? Meaning, let’s say somehow the bag falls and it lands on its face. Is there anything besides the typical padding that’s going to absorb the hit? Is it extra thick there? Or is the padding in the outside front of the bag extra thick/supportive? I think that’s one of my biggest concerns with finding the right bag: having the right kind of support for the joystick itself, without it really “looking like it” too much. One idea I literally just thought of: Instead of just thickening the case itself, maybe you could make front of the case a little more supportive and then also the “flap” extra cushion-y to hide some of the bulk?

I dunno, I’m just spewing out thoughts quickly before I head to work, but again I think it’s awesome that you want to do this and make it right. As it stands, I’m very interested myself, especially so if I can pick the colors of the outside and inside.

Thanks!

~~Nate

P.S. - one more thought: any chance you could design the “front pouch” to also have the slot for a stick, but on the left instead of the right? Or there be a way to have it customized that way? What I’m getting at, is… Is there a way to design it so you have TWO sticks inside, facing each other? I don’t know what other people do, but it can be somewhat common for me to drag both sticks along with me when going somewhere, either for a friend to use, or as a failsafe at a tournament.

Thanks again!

Wow! These are a great beginning!
From my end, I would like to see a waterproof zipper, it can be on the narrow fold of the flap
You have done a great job on presentation. What about a more rigid version (thin plastic inside the walls)
Take a look at incase’s courier bags. They run about 120 150
Totally aesthetics here… …get rid of the side mesh pockets.

Any news on the bags?

Capcom already has something like this out:
http://www.n00balert.com/capcom-offering-80-fight-stick-travel-bag-26366/

Basically make it better than this, and at a better price point than $80 (especially considering what you actually get with that crappy capcom bag) and I’m sure the demand will be there. Also throw a discount my way for giving you the insight!

My opinion is a big company like Capcom can always produce for cheaper than what any small business could.Think doing everything in Bulk makes things cheap but the down side is quality will suffer. For a Small business, they mite not be able to compete with a bigger companies price.
Small companies will shoot for the Quality the big boys fail to deliver or offer options or features considered to niche for the big company.

This.

Most of us here are willing to pay more for stuff put out by the community, especially since the quality tends to be better.
