I’m seriously trying to figure out if it’s just me and my own Internet connection or if it’s actually the game. I’m using a wired connection on my PS3 and I’ve had the following scenarios happen to me:
I get an invite from someone on my friend’s list, I accept the invitation and while I’m mid-way through joining, I get kicked back out to the main menu
I’ll be in a full lobby of six people with some nice matches going, and then when I spectate a match, their games will freeze on the Vs. screen and then say, “A player has either left or disconnected”. So naturally it goes back to the lobby and then the next player in line is up. But then the same thing happens, rinse and repeat until the entire lobby is empty
I’ll be in a lobby waiting for the next match (Mine or spectate) to begin and then from out of nowhere it’ll say, “Connection Lost” and kick me back out to the main menu.
I swear, out of the two or so hours that I spend playing HDR every night, literally an hour of it is dedicated entirely to finding a lobby that actually works. Wtf is going on here… :wasted:
I find that it’s not even a ping problem. I could have a great ping with the player and still drop on PSN. Hopefully they are going to fix the issues but until then i’ve downloaded it for xbox.
Yeah, I don’t think it’s a ping issue either. I’ve gone into lobbies with 60 ping or less even when there’s 6 people and the lobby imploding problem (#2 on list) will STILL happen. Either everybody I’m fighting really likes to use Start Button colours or I’m just really unlucky
The problem is the bugs. And because M$ is so loathe to patch XBLA games, I doubt we will see any fixes to these issues before SF4.
Maybe PSN will get a patch first, but its network support (at least here in the states) is made of fail, so even bugfixes wont solve the drop problems ive been hearing about.
Nobody hold your breath on these problems getting fixed anytime soon.
I was playing on a wireless connection for a while and thought that was the fault. But after getting a dedicated modem for my PS3 for a wired connection I still feel the wrath of disconnects and drops. SF4 better not disappoint!!!
