Whats up SRK.
I was hoping to find some local SSF4 players in the desert. I’m in Palm Springs, and the closest other spots for casual/tournament play seems to be at least and hour and a half away :lame:
I hope some people reply and maybe there are already casuals going on in the desert I don’t know about and should! If enough reply we should arrange for some weekly or biweekly play and level up together, and make a name for us desert dwellers.
I have cousins and homies from Cathedral City who drive to my place in LA just to play Street Fighter. They’re really into SSF4 and 3S. But they’re all a tight group. But I ask them why don’t you do like me here in LA and throw gatherings? My cousin’s reply was that he wouldn’t be comfortable inviting random players over to his pad. That was his reason. Another problem is that they’re not active in srk.
But there is SSF4 talent in that area and if you could somehow have consistent gatherings at your spot and get your area to notice and it becomes a regular thing on this board then maybe it will pry out my cousins and friends to play with you and then they’ll probably like it. But they’re just a group of friends who play together. Like 5-6 guys. They’re a little shy to outsiders. No real names from srk. But I’m on here and if you could build a following in the desert, I’ll definately inform them of it.
I’m actually in Cathedral City myself, just slightly closer to Palm Springs.
I can respect their reason for not holding public gatherings of the sort. There really aren’t many places one can hold casual SSF4 matches in the desert apart from one’s home, and I’m sure it can get overwhelming with a large handful of people.
I play regularly with just two other guys, but hopefully some replies come in and some arrangements can be made for events locally. I’ll have to see what I can do.
Damn!! close one! I am in Imperial County, but Cochella is not that far, I am willing to drive all the way there just to meet with people form the SSFIV community since here in Imperial that practically does not exist.
sup guys im out here in palm springs too. i just moved here from the 909 area and im way to far to be going to AI like i used but glad to hear that there are people in the desert.
