Any SF Vets that that enjoy single player alot?

Story mode is Arcade mode in 2016.

This game has no arcade release. Arcade mode in old games was, you guessed it, the arcade.

Grinding through single player is to see the stories. That’s your payoff.

I used to play arcade mode in SFA2 on Saturn on 8 stars because I had no competition. No online play.

Anyways, this thread is pretty silly. Shoryuken.com is and always had been a place for people who are into competitive fighting games. If you’re not into the competitive aspect, you will be very hard pressed to find like minds. Id suggest gamefaqs but I’d really just suggest another video game, this genre of games is primarily about versus battles. It’d be like making a thread on a Chess board saying “hey does anyone else like the single player aspect of checkers and chess” and that’s not even a perfect analogy as AI in video chess is pretty damned good.

That explains why MKX has sold ~8 times as many copies as SFV!

So completely alienate the OG Street Fighter players that’s been playing the game religiously for over 25 years, by not including a legit Arcade Mode in SFV; even when Capcom’s direct competitors, who sell more copies, have an Arcade mode …? Makes total sense lol

Arcades dope and it’s retarded that this game doesn’t have it.

“Want some offline 2 round fights in a randomized character order like every fighting game ever? Fuck you. :D” is what I’m getting from Capcom.

I take my computer away from internet sometimes. It’s ridiculous that survival is my only option.

It’s *very *different. Some characters have like 3 battles and the difficulty is weak to the point where a 6 month old baby can actually clear it. Also, again, having no Arcade version is *not *synonymous with having or not having an Arcade Mode. Both MVC3 and SFXT have an Arcade Mode and neither was in the Arcade. Same for a lot of games that were never released in the Arcade before console. It’s just an excuse, as one has *nothing *to do with the other. When games like Xrd, Blazblue, Skullgirls, Dead or Alive, Persona, Injustice, MKX, and a few others have a dedicated Story Mode and Arcade Mode while Capcom can barely string together a competent Story Mode, it’s a problem. They’re being outdone by all of their competition.

I’m a competitive player who **still **enjoys single player stuff. For SFIV/Super, I’d play Arcade Mode a lot because I enjoyed reading personal win quotes and because I just liked doing it. This didn’t stop me from hoping online and playing others. Same with Persona, Blazblue, and many others. Most people just assume you have to play this game a **certain **way to have a relevant opinion and that line of thinking is silly. The strength in a game is the versatility it brings. Capcom not releasing single-player content off the bat isn’t such a big deal to the competitive circle, but it’s hella important to potential customers. Now look at the mess they’ve gotten themselves into just because they had to have the game out for the CPT and fiscal yr.

It’s illogical to disregard others because they don’t have the *same *competitive drive that everyone supposedly shares at SRK. A lot of us are different and seek different things in fighting games. Most of us all share the love for the competitive aspect, but there has to be more to the game than just that if it wants to be successful in today’s world. I love SFV, but that doesn’t change the fact that the overall game is about as dry as the Mojave Desert when you take a step back and look at it in its entirety.

@“Doctrine Dark” Stop man, just stop. Your attempting to use logic, reasoning, facts and rational thought.

That shit don’t work here man. It just doesn’t.

Capcom are video game designing gods, and gods are flawless in all things.

As is Street Fighter V. It is video game perfection. Zero flaws, any where to be found.

GTFO with logic, reasoning or any of that garbage, it’s not acceptable here.

Ive never seen a post so clearly have no fucking clue what its talking about.

@crotchpuncha That post was before I’d been shown the light. I was an ignorant heathen at the time. Daring to use rational thinking, logic and facts.

That person is not me anymore. The Light shines bright now, and I have been blessed by it.

Forgive me, my ignorance, Senpai, I know not what I spoke of.

Shut up dude.

@crotchpuncha

I think I pretty much stopped playing online and only locals for USF4. So I spent majority of my time in training mode and doing single player stuff like trials and beating the arcade on hardest with different characters. I think the single player content kept me amused in that game. SSF4 and SSF4 I played solely online, skipped AE and V2012. I pretty much have to play online with SFV without much else, where as arcade mode made it interesting to see who I could beat the story with. Survival just isn’t as interesting in my opinion, and the story mode is so bad, so far…

People are comparing SFV, which was released early and incomplete to give people enough time with the game before Evo and other tourneys, to fully released games that didn’t release early. Had they held back the release until the game was “done,” it would be a comparable experience to other fighters when it comes to offline content.

So basically if you are dissatisfied with the offline content, just pretend the game isn’t out yet. Play it when all of that content is released. It obviously didn’t release early for you anyway, so there is no point in playing now.

No. People are comparing a 60$ purchase with another 60$ purchase, both from the same company and from other companies within the same industry/genre. The fact that you can hand wav…

…wait. I’ve fallen into this trap before.

Capcom is video game designing gods, and gods make flawless products and infallible choices.

Street Fighter V is thus perfect.

(am I doing it right?)

SFV isn’t perfect, but no early access game(because let’s face it, that’s what this is) is going to be.

Being an early access, even though it was never ever marketed as one, does not excu…

DAMNIT. I did it again.

Street Fighter V is perfect. Street Fighter V is perfect. Street Fighter V is perfect.

Please stop using the phrase “Street Fighter V is perfect”. It’s redundant. “Street Fighter V” is a synonym of the word “perfect”. Hence, you can just say either “Street Fighter V” or “Perfect” and the other is obviously implied. it’s an option-select.

Ono Christ, dude, have you even played the game? Fucking noob.

Thank you for the correction Senpai! It will not happen again.

I will run 100 laps around the school track as punishment for my stupidity.

It wasn’t marketed as such, but they did say “hey we are releasing this unfinished game early for reasons and we will make the rest of the content available in the future.”

As I said, it’s basically early access.

I do remember on the box it said “New! Street Fighter V: Unfinished Edition!”

See, I told you. Now let’s all drop this and go play grab ass with Vega.
