Well the thing is i want single player stuff to be included because where i live online gaming is impossible im moving in like 4months then ill be able to compete online but untill then i want to practise and learn the game more.
4 months of only training is boring i need the best of 3 rounds to practise and act like its online so when the time comes that i can play online i would be inproved by then but any way luckily capcom is giving arcade mode soon i guess, also i love my single player fighting games so much that i bought a 200€ arcadestick and i cant even compete online with it yet , usfiv has better single player options right now sux cause i rly love the style of SFV i guess we just gotta wait and see where this game leads
Uh why say f word towards me u clearly got anger problems then if u get mad at words lol i feel sorry for your gf/wife if you disagree u dont have to attack a person be grown man , any ways ive never seen a fighting game released without an arcade or VS CPU mode never ever seen that happen only SFV its barebones for 60€ like it or not its the truth accept it im not hating as it will come at a later date free but its just we paid for it now so i can understand why it scored 3.3/10 i still love this game even with my crappy internet and cant game online untill i move but i still play survival and training all day long every day so that must say something…
Btw. I fucking loved the story modes and rpg shit in Soul Blade/Soul Calibur and in the Alpha 3 console version back in the day.
Wish Capcom had put in something like that.
You pick a character and travel around the world, fighting against different people, doing mini games and getting experience points and finding artifacts to strengthen your character in the process. All being held together by a nicely written story.
Then you can go online and play with your pimped character against friends and participate in team battles and shit.
Something that is fun for the casual player and doesn’t pressure them to level up their own skills and helps them get into contact with other players.
SFV is lacking in building a social infrastructure anyways. I know tons of people who can’t quit World of Warcraft, League of Legends or Dota 2 even though they hate the game because the people they play with feel like family and friends and they got an attachment to the stuff they’ve already unlocked.
SFV feels like a watered down Twitter in that regard.
When it comes to fighting games, when you are playing against the computer you aren’t actually playing the game.
The difference in you “practicing” in arcade mode before you get online or not is simply that you might feel more comfortable getting your bnb off against a moving target…
…before you get destroyed in neutral and never get to pull it off anyway.
Luckily we have the best training mode SF has had in a while, if you seriously want to practice use that, the record feature can let you practice defence against various setups pretty well, otherwise gamefaqs is this way.
By far the most fun aspect of fighting games for me is playing other people. However I usually play through arcade mode of a fighting game (unless there is an individual story mode) once with each character, just to get some sort of feel of each character…to help me decide who I want to use. I think an extensive well written story mode can be very enjoyable, if you enjoy the characters and their histories.
One must discern that people checking a forum on fighting games like SRK, are a tiny tiny saleswise insignificant blip. Everyone here is also experienced in fighting games, so jumping online right away is much different than someone who has no experience in fighting games. Those poor folks, they have to learn to dash, learn to move, jump comfortably…then all the buttons that do different things. Jumping online for these people would be brutal, harsh.
I don’t think many here realize what a difference that is. Everyone here can jump online and do all the character’s special moves right away (unless they have pretzal motions or something like that), know how to basically space and move due to their previous experience. So we can jump online right away, and feel like we have some control over the character we are using, even if we know zero combos and don’t know the ideal time to use each move. However new players, I mean it is like a lamb to the slaughter, they can’t do anything. They feel powerless, helpless, online. It is a scary, intimidating place for them. So having single player modes, and good tutorials, stuff to do til they are comfortable is vital, oh so vital, for these individuals.
Yeah the point of any competitive game is competition. However while everyone here can at least walk, most new inexperienced players can barely crawl.
ı wouldn’t call myself a veteran of this game, but as a long time fan of the series, I love SF lore and the single player experience the series has provided us with. SFA3 is still the undisputed king of that.
Also arcade mode is coming it just should of been there at the start same with VS CPU u cant even do that only player VS player and we all paid for full game not complaining but seriously capcom give us what we pay for and are asking for before u loose sales on the next game or this game will stay at a low score if capcom turns it around FAST then people would do a re-review but if it takes long people wont do nothing then…
But this game does have the best SF gameplay wise of the whole series IMO
Its just very barebones that they shouldnt of charges us 60€ if the game was only 30€ the game wouldnt of had a bad score 3.3/10 in meta… maybe …people are mad because they paid for a full game but its very barebones.
Not that the game suck its awesome i used to be a Mortal Kombat player and SF on the side but now sfv became my main game and i bought a stick and i dont even play online not yet not untill i move but i do ,do local matches atm and 2 player matches
Everyone whining aside, I enjoy Arcade mode/story mode/whatever and don’t think it’s a gimmick of the past.
Truth be told if you really want to get good, you want actual in the same room physical human VS play. Not even so shit online play where the difference between a win or loss could be underwater lag fests or a spike at the most crucial time. None of that shit would be legit in a real match, so it’s laughable how people are really trying to defend that like it’s truly all that better than someone who enjoys single player modes.
Let people enjoy what they want. Some people buy games and play them once and never play them again, but it was something in the game that got them to buy it at the very least.
If you want this shit to survive, you’re gonna want something that’ll probably appeal to everyone as well as in-depth gameplay for the more serious gamers. Problem is, this game has issues from that to even having a legit story mode. To be honest, I would’ve waited the extra couple of months to release the extra set of characters plus the story mode and have them iron out the damn network play entirely from connections to the whole damn battle lounge.
So saying someone who wants to play arcade mode who is a C A S U A L is like slapping someone in the face the game was supposedly all honky dory about appealing to in the first place.
Like the guy clearly said he’s a casual to a game that said it aims to appeal to casuals and he’s not even getting that appeal from this game.
hm.
imagine that.
Online play is great, but really if you guys are all about crunching on skill, it’s all about the training room and real peer 2 peer gameplay. Till then, stop whining because most of you aren’t even in the top % of skilled evo players or whatever the hell.
I don’t think making the execution easier was supposed to give the game casual appeal. But we might have different definitions of what makes a casual. imo a casual is someone who doesn’t stick with a game if they hit a brick wall that requires skill to overcome. No matter how easy they make the execution, SFV isn’t casual friendly online or in person against people who understand fighters.
That’s adorably backwards. No wonder the entire FGC can fit in a large conference room. The sheer hostility to anyone that isn’t already a pro or likes different parts of the games is rampant.
