I’m fine on both sides in SF games. For some reason in KOF games power geyser motions only come out on 2p side for me.
On a controller I’m fine with either side (although I do favour the 2p side since I’m left handed and moving to the left is more natural for me personally), but I’m getting my stick soon, so we’ll see how that goes…
Play a character that has forwards and backwards DP motions, like Bison, Akuma, or Gouken. That’ll teach you how to do it real fast.
Yeah, I’m much better on the right side than I am on the left. I’m just a player 2 guy.
yea i suck when facing left but it has been improving.
but now its all going to change as im gonna be using my stick from today.
all my hard work down the drain lol.
I’ve killed tons of my skin cells on my thumb to become two sided winner.
That’s kind of the reason why I started maining Guile back when HDRemix first came out. I was having a hard transition to using an arcade stick and I couldn’t do most motions consistently on the 1P side so I figured “Charging is easy on both sides.” Now I’m so used to charge characters, everyone else feels “uncomfortable.” This was okay in SF2, where Guile is viable, but in SF4, it’s proven to be…difficult.
Do you mean reg moves? or Super and Ultras. I can execute reg moves on both sides but super and ultras I need to be on the left facing side. Right facing side, I might get some in but not as often. I’m still practicing, at the beginning of SFIV when I just got into it, I couldn’t execute on the right facing side but from practice, I’m getting it down.
I use to be a face right guy…then i got stick now im a face right and left. I cant do all the moves on either side but i have a solid balance…also if i pick zangief it dont matter cause i 360 my dick off
whenever i try dp on 1p side i always get super because of the piece of shit lenient ass input system so i have to force myself to do df df method which is unnatural to me.
otherwise my execution is usually equally bad on both sides in any game that isnt sf4.
I used to have this problem when playing KOF 98 on pad.
After playing KOF for a while, I have no issues with commands on either side on a ps2 pad. Another pad…another story.
I really only have problems with dp’s on the right. The rest I’m actually a little better at on the right side.
When Im using a d-pad I prefer 1P side, and when using a stick I prefer 2P side… totally weird.
yea training on both sides just keep playing matches you’ll get there
I thought I was just weird…
I can play on both sides, but for some reason i greatly prefer the p2 side for some reason. Never noticed it till this thread.
I prefer playing on the right side of cabinets. I used to fuck up my motions a lot on the left side at my arcade.
Believe it or not, just force yourself to play on the 2p side all the time for awhile. My brother and I had that problem from playing on the same side all the time as kids (He in 2p and Me in 1p) For years I could only execute properly and all the time on the 1p side. Worst was when in tournaments and getting fucked from a victory because the move wouldn’t execute from fucking up the input because I ended up on the 2p side ; (
Practice practice and more practice.
I haven’t had that problem since they started putting training mode into games. Just practice moves from the 2p side in training mode. That way you stand a chance in actual competition.
I work really hard to not be one side dependent but i would say they i favor the right side of the screen. I tend to be on the second player side more often then not because my bro sets the game up and thus ends up being the first player. Sometimes when playing online i start on the left and forget and and have to grab my bearings but otherwise my executions pretty consistent on each side.
i thought i was the only left facing player on srk, i’ve asked this question before and most people prefer facing the right.
with a pad it doesnt matter which side i’m on but with a stick i really have to force my moves out when i’m facing right.
