All you pad players, how do you do the heavy loop? I’m having a lot of trouble with the timing. Currently how I am trying to do it is press H then my trigger which is LM mapped in 1 button but I keep getting them falling out of the loop or the medium kick comes out when I do it too fast.
Mash forward and H is the easiest way to go about it
Bro, I’ve just started learning the Flight combo yesterday, and today, I was able to do 8 out of 10 Fly combos. To me, this combo is just like Nova’s Fly/ Unfly combo, it’s all about the rhythm. It will take awhile before you find it, but in the end, it’s very satisfying, don’t give up! Like my P.E. teacher says, “Practice makes Permanent”.
If it helps us,count to 6(Because that’s how many H’s you can get I believe)or find a word or phrase you’re comfortable with, and say it while doing your H>dash>H>dash>H.
i play mag on PS3 Pad.
My controller is set up as:
L1: L+M (dash) so H come out faster after pressing dash for Fly loop and Hyper Grav
L2: Assist 1
R1: Assist 2
R2: M+H (dash) For tridash j.L overheads
If you are having trouble doing the H dash H fly loop try the MH dash MH fly loop first and learn the rhythm (as said above)
Its all rhythm - once you have it down you can do it with your eyes closed.
Dont aim for 6 when learning…that might just encourage mashing. Aim for 4 for now.
Hey, I’m curious, what’s your button for X Factor activation?
Mmm… I can see your point in aiming for 4 H’s… why may I ask?
I think it might be easier to learn the timing when aiming for 4 H’s rather than the max H’s you can do in flight. Someone whos just learning it might end up mashing and ruining the rhythm to get all max H’s during flight.
IMO, best way to learn flight and its timing when ADF.HxN is to keep it simple. Get 4 H’s in then end it with dash MMHS. Once someone feels comfortable with that then you can go ahead and the other stuff like unfly H, st. H hype grav L xx Magnetic Tempest or flight cancel S.
So anyway, IMO ppl that are learning flight should just keep it simple for now until theyre comfortable with it.
I can do the MH loops easily every time… Is the timing the exact same for the H loop?
Someone with a pad if you could make a vid or something?
Quoted for the truth. I’ll take this into consideration when I’m in training mode.
M just comes out faster than H, that’s why it’s easier, and there’s plenty of videos on Youtube already, whether stick, or pad, in the end it come down to practice.

For X factor with my set up you can either:
press L1+R2+X
or
Use the base of your palm to hit L+M+H+S (Which is what i do - sounds awkward but i find it pretty easy)
Also, ive found the only way i can do the Hyper grav loop is if i dash using L1(left hand) and hit H (right hand)
You can really just put your thumb on the four face buttons easily
You can just macro LMHS on an r3 or l3 button on a ps3 pad…
true the thumb thing works.
guess im just used to using my palm. never had any trouble with it so ill stick with it
I suck with him, but I use the D-Pad. It’s easier for me.
How do you all plink dash with Magneto on pad? I can plink the addf H in the hyper grav loop. But, when I press H, then immediately press L+M, then H again I don’t get a plink dash. I just get a standing H and a regular dash and another standing H.
I do the H~L+M method. You just have to make sure you’re plinking H into L+M. I bind R2 to L+M and just go Circle~R2, Circle~R2… (On a DualShock 3). Just get the timing down on the H into L+M. It’s a bit difficult to get used to at first 'cause you’re plinking a face button into a shoulder button, but you’ll get the hang of it. Or you could always go claw.
Ironically enough I recently was able to plink dash on pad consistently (after buying a stick lol).
I have a question though. I often get a standing H as a missed input when plink dashing. I watched the Chris Schmidt video about using some special layout to prevent this while plinking. Anyone know how to replicate this on pad?
Man, it’s so hard to play this character. But I really like him and his mobility.
I can’t seem to do the hyper graph loop, only when I use the heavy hyper that I can do the super jump into a heavy and then a heavy, but with the light hyper, the character doesn’t seem to follow me as well.
Yea, Kratos he’s pretty hard. In online play I pretty much restrict myself to the most basic combos ever. You probably know which ones I’m talking about, but if you don’t go to the combo thread. They are the first couple.
I just picked up magnus about a week ago on ps3 pad and I can do most if his shit. It’s all about timing and clean inputs. If you having problems doing things like grav loops remember that you buffer the inputs to make it work. It’s like a rhythm you have to get used to
