Guilty Gear was a huge disappointment.
Bleach is ok I guess but I haven’t spent much time on it because I don’t like the IP.
Jump is a decent brawler if you love Anime
UMK3 is UMK3. Sad to say thats it’s the best the DS has to offer unless you want to go GBA.

For portable fighting, psp (revision 2000 or above) would be your best bet. As long as you don’t have one of the original systems, the later revisions have a decent enough d-pad. You can play alpha 3 pretty well on it if you really want to play a fighter on the road.
I modded the D-pad on my PSP 1000 and it’s fine for most fighting games. Not perfect, but it works much better than it did. I can play Alpha 3 with no problems and even have a bunch of CPS 1&2 fighters that work pretty well too. The only one I have problems with is that Hyper SF2 game. O_o But I’m a bit suspect of that one anyway.
yeah, don’t buy Guilty Gear Dust Strikers for the DS unless you have more money than sense. DS doesn’t really have a lot of great fighters, though there are a couple MK games and SSf2 Revival (never checked it out so i don’t know about it much) on the GBA that you can play on DS.
Don’t play Windy x Wisdom. It is seriously beyond bad. I’m talking like a mugen game or some shit. It’s got walk jab infinites in the corner, things like that. It also has the most unresponsive controls ever, but that’s okay because you can just launch somebody and then juggle them until they die.
Bleach and UMK3 for online play.
Just get a PSP and you can play all the good fighting games =P

I just don’t like bleach so I can’t get into it.
If you can run homebrew, there is a mindblowingly good Neo Geo emulator. It manages to run things like samsho, kof, last blade and even garou at 40-60 fps(varies between games and ingame situation, and things like if you scaled the screen to fit ds or not. it’s also said that you can gain a few fps by running it on a freshly formated sd card because it will be less fragmented or something)… It’s great. I just played samsho 5 on it today in fact.
It manages to make it work on ds by applying some sort of process to the roms beforehand on the pc(which you have to do by yourself, and the converter is a bit picky about the exakt files used).
