Any character + any* assist combo thread

So, I like being creative and seeing where my imagination in this game can take me when it comes to finding cool/interesting/useful combos in this game.

I want a bit of a challenge…

Post any character with any* assist you would like to see a combo with and I’ll do my very best to post something interesting.

Everything will be tested on a DC by my own 2 hands. I don’t have or use program pads.

*I may have some difficulties working with enhance assist, though but I’ll still try.

Omega Red on point, Colossus AAA.

Note: all the lk, lk, pause, lk, lk shenanigans were tested on juggs. On normal sized characters, regular magic series or lk, lk, fp (no pauses) or lk, lk, pause, lk, fp (1 pause) will work just fine.

Just a clarification for other members who may not catch your combos, the lk,lk abbreviations are for lk,mk chains, not lk,lk links.

awesome thread. I love doing this. could it be open so that others can try and give their creative ideas for combos/resets (maybe even to a lesser extent DHCs)?

Thanos + Venom (Expansion)

anyone + jill

I know a few by heart because I do them.

Hulk with jill dash assist, midscreen:

-j.lk, j.lk, land, dash in c.lk, c.fp (2 hits), call in jill dash assist, gamma crush into assist.

…It does 14-16 total combo hits and does about 95% life on cable because of the GC glitch.

Sabretooth with Jill projectile assist, corner:

-j.fk, land, dash in s.lk, s.fk + jill proj assist, lp berserker claw into assist,[ s.lk (juggle), c.mk, xx fp command grab] repeat x N…

…Combo into sabretooth infinite. Character specific.

Storm + jill proj, corner:

-trijump. fk, land, s.fk + jill proj assist, sj.fp into assist xx ad down, whiff lk, land, s.fk, sj.fp xx ad df, fp (flying screen), fk(otg), s.fk

…8 Fierce hit combo + assist

Thanos + jill proj, corner:

-j.fk, land, dash in, c.lp, c.fp, sj.lp, lk, mp, mk, lp dash (pseudo flying screen), delay sj.fk (otg), land, s.fk + jill proj, lp dash in assist, lp bubble, s.lp, s.lp, s.fp xx power super, soul super.

Charlie/Guile+Bison(variety)

I found pretty basic stuff so far.

…c.lk + venom, c.lk, assist hits/otg xx lp bubble > whatever

Bison Variety is a nice assist for closing gaps, but somewhat bad for combos because it causes a fast knockdown while pushing the opponent away. So, outside of a corner, with guile/charlie, you’re doing a lot of OTG combos.

in corner:

-db.lp, db.lp, sb.fp + bison, lp sonic boom, assist hits xx sonic hurricane/somersault justice. For charlie, do a fp sonic boom.

-c.lp, c.lp, s.fp + bison, dash-in as assist hits, after 2nd assist hit, somersault justice. pause, somersault justice

charlie anywhere:

-c.lp, c.lp, s.fp + bison, assist hits, low moonsault slash (otg), land, s.lk, s.fk xx somersault justice.

Rogue+Guile (AA or Proj) - I’ve been learning Rogue lately, but I’m tired of having Storm on my team as I’d like to have a totally no god tier team. (I’m not dropping Tron, though).

Storm/Shuma/Silver-

Storm/Shuma(xtype)
Combo #1- lp, lk, lp, lk,Shuma, hk, ad, aerial combo, lighting attack/lighting storm. Cool combo…
Combo #2- cr.lp, cr.lk2, typhoon, Shuma, hailstorm or lighting storm.
Combo #3- cr.lp, cr.lk2, hk, Shuma, hailstorm, add, cr.lk, hk…aerial etc…
Combo #4- (this ones tricky) cr.lp, cr.hp, add+hp, Shuma, cross under, lightning attack/lightning storm. Bad…
Combo #5 - (similar to the previous) cr.lp2, cr.hk, adf, Shuma, cross under, lightning, etc…

Storm/Silver (ground)
Combo #1- lp, lk2, typhoon, Silver, hailstorm.
Combo #2- add+ lk2, hp, repeat*, cr.lp, cr.lk, cr.lp, Silver, repeat*, cr.lp2, hk, aerial…etc.
Combo #3- cr.lk2, hk, Silver, sj, lightning df, lightning upf + lightning storm.
Combo #4- add+lk2, hp, repeat*, Silver, aerial cross, hp, hk, cr.lp2, hk, aerial, etc…
Combo #5- lp, lk2, Silver, hk, sj, add +lk, hk, aerial, etc. The first hk connects with Silver’s sword, that keeps them in place. After the sword finishes, hk again to launch.
Note: The “repeat*” is specifically for the add+ lk2, hp combo.

Those are some cool combinations. I have a ton of other teams, but I was practicing with that team like a month ago, and listed all of those combos down on paper. It doesnt stop with just Storm, Silver has some cool stuff too. When you aerial grab in the corner, land, hp +Shuma, lightning super. The key to that is, when theyre landing, throw a dummy whiff out, to speed up his actions instead of waiting to hit them coming down. What I mean, when theyre falling, do hp quickly, then do standing hp + Shuma. You actually dont need Shuma to pull it off, but it adds to the damage. Or, another cool combo is the sword fury or whatev…lol
(I think its foward/down + lp or hp) With Shuma, it bounces them back towards you, dropping them right into the lightning. You have to get the positioning right though. Ive done the flame one as well, but you have to time that one really carefully.

One more thing, with his ice power up, do the sword fury+ Shuma, then ice super. They’ll bounce far to the opposite side, and the ice super will still be there. The funny thing with that is, the ice isnt visible when they come down, but it still hits. Its the finishing parts of the ice, which kinda is in the process of vanishing. You have to time it right though, so there are some things you can work on.

Any Sent/Jugg Fast Fly combos?

Storm/Sent with Juggernaut

Any assists are ok.

-Just a quickie: With IM on point and dhalsim on AA.

Launch, s.D+FP, xx ad df, lk, u+FP xx fly, fly lk, fp + dhalsim, xx unfly, assist hits, land, infinite.

With Marrow: lp, lp, call Sam, HK, (Sam connects) qcf+PP
Or lp, call Sam, lp, HP, qcb+PP. The HP sends them flying and they’ll actually land on the shuriken and get nailed by the super. Does not work on Sent/Hulk/Juggs, and not sure about B.Heart. You can combo from here to Capcom rush super or Sam’s Shuriken.
Lk, call Capcom, lk, (pops up) qcb+PP. Fast combo w/ decent damage.
If you connect when Marrow tags in, pause, qcb+PP, DHC to Sam’s Shuriken super when bone spears first appear and aim shuriken down.

With Sam: cr.lp, call Marrow, Hp, Hp, Lightning super. This combo puts most characters right in the sweet spot above Sam’s head and does massive damage if you mash it.
If you like to do lkx2 into Lightning, tack on Capcom assist (hit the assist button right between performing lk’s) if there’s an assist nearby to make sure they stay for the show.

With Capcom: Any combo into launch, call Marrow before you leave the ground, jump straight up and HP immediately. Land, opponent is juggled by bonerang, launch, lp, lp, throw. Instead of relaunch, you could also Corridor into Sword, but it’s not really worth the meter. Timing is odd on this one, but it’s mad fun.
