Anti Denjin Ryu question

This thread rules.

I think it’s lack of ryu players lol. I can only think of like 3.

(I thought the main purpose of this thread was making bold claims about yourself.) :smokin:

Yeah my friend who play’s gouki and I noticed this. I play Ryu 50% of the time and we weren’t sure what was allowing him to be hit. At first we thought projectile supers but this makes more sense since it was very close. Thanks for the info.

So how does the 3S Arcade (NYC) boys club treat its new members anyway? Lurid details please.

I am the best at wake up uppercut in the world

I’m also number two at uppercut after whiff tatsu. Kuroda is #1

only denjin ryu tournament?! ONLY DENJIN RYU TOURNAMENT!!

Aside from getting hype during tournaments, none of us do anything that would make people feel uncomfortable playing there

Haha that’s good. That is what I would expect/hope would be the case. I was just hoping for story time. You’re the twelve in the videos Nica linked to right? The 3S 16v16 or what have you at NEC? Cool shit if so

Yep

Afro No.12

he wont do this cuz he thinks hes gonna get mugged and cuz he makes excuses for everything even traveling to Philly on a bus, even if he rolls with the CF players -___-

NEC had a 3S available to play on american cab, too. supposedly, they also had psx/2 controller converters, but i never saw them. dont think anyone asked for them. it was stated these would be available in the second paragraph of the 3s @ nec thread.

don’t wanna gang up on you ryu24, but i think in you being “blunt” you’re too quick to speak sometimes. you seem to be learning, so you can’t be that much of a scrub, so sorry if i mislabeled u one in the past.

as far as the whole American sticks vs Japanese goes, I think it’s all about preference. japanese sticks are designed to be played while sitting down, so for extended periods of time while using less energy/work, while american sticks are designed for upright cabs and to withstand massive abuse from big american man.

The big issues with American sticks is that they are often Perfect 360s. I’ve read a thread on srk stating there was a manufacturing issue or design flaw with p360s, I forget which. i also remember a post a year or so back from a reputable 3s player talking about how p360s used lazers to read inputs and that you’d have to hit an exact point out of 360 degrees, which is why they were so polarizing amongst players. people who could find the exact points for diagonals loved them while others swore they were blocking low and got hit or that they jumped forward instead of straight up.

Personally, I’m with a lot of the people who say the sticks on the big 3s cab @ CTF are too bouncy/springy, not to mention p360s. Once again, this is just preference and i don’t think people should normally avoid using them or use them as an excuse. man up and adjust, i’d say. But, even the regular players at cf miss a lot of their execution due to the sticks they are “used to”. i saw cf players nailing their shit at nec on japanese cab. i’ve heard it said before, but i’ll say it again, cf has a lot of players with potential, but they are being held back by the limitations of the equipment.
If that’s not enough, look at cf 3s play in general. it’s so slowed down and basic because everyone is scared they’ll miss their execution (unless theyre drunk or fucking around stylin’). Justin wong’s style is/used to be the epitome of cf style - turtling and punishing whiffs. obviously, justin is no longer a huge turtle, he’s an exceptional player, and chun may be a bad example of the style i want to convey, but the point is he developed that basic, straightforawrd style over the years in cf. he honed it because he found what it worked against cf players and 98-99% of non-japanese players.

3s should only be played on japanese h2h. anything else should be a crime.:looney:

If so many people want japanese sticks, why don’t you guys just get together and buy the parts, and get someone to make a new control panel for the cab if need be? I’m sure someone in the area has a hole saw and the know how.

it’s not as simple as that. cf has japanese parts on the small cab, but it’s an american cab and the joystick shafts feel too tall or mounted differently. plus, u can’t get the proper angle for a joystick designed to play sitting down on an upright cab even with a stool since the control panel is tilted. no one plays on that cab anyway due to it’s position and glare on 2p side as a result if you’re under 6ft tall. as for why cf doesn’t get japanese h2h cabs, that’s another story.

If you guys really made an effort you could get it done. As long as the arcade owner doesn’t mind you fixing his equipment for free. If that’s your best spot for 3s it seems like the effort would be worth it.

we all want that, but its a matter of actually taking the time to get everything together and modding it, but on the other hand it would be bad because judging by the equipment at cf, its pretty safe to say that if there were japanese parts on that cab then it will easily break and cost the owner more to repair and fix, that small cab with japanese parts already had messed up parts like a couple of weeks after it was first put in and so far no one has taken the effort to fix it, so my point is its easier said than done, when it comes to making an effort to make the cab suitable for everyone

Ill make it to more tourneys once I find myself a GF.
its been way too long since ive had any love and cuddling. i miss it too much and nobody keeps me warm during the winter=(

After I do, Ill give my stick a try again but I will miss being a pad warrior.

until then, you guys can find me on GGPO!
-victory dance-

even IF you find yourself a GF, thats just gonna be another excuse for you to not go to tournaments -_____-

You beat me to it. haha

It’s a big guessing game. Watch Vanao matches. His opponent gets up and takes a step forward. They eat a fireball. Other times they jump straight up or towards him. He has a huge smile on his face as he waits for them to lower so he can blast them. It’s not just, hit-them-when-they-get-up.
