Meh, thought I’d post this here for anyone who didn’t know. If you Kunai when meeting someone in the air, and they go into a juggle state, if you land first use Raida.
Has anybody tested Raida anti-airs much, aside from the insanity that is grabbing seth/sim j.hp. I’m thinking its so far been overlooked and could turn out to be extremely useful.
I never do them on purpose, they just come out accidentally when going for b+mp, but so far they’ve beaten all of bisons stomps/jump-ins, beat out abel crossups (dunno why he was crossing me up and I especially don’t know why I was going for b+mp in the first place), smokes divekicks from rufus/cammy/juri. I’m gonna head into training mode now, but when watching my replays I’m always surprised when I see the AA Raida come out and just out prioritize everything that’s coming at it.
Edit: Okay, training moded a bit. I don’t like it vs. Bison… or anybody that can come in from THAT steep of an angle with a hitbox like his j.fp. On the other hand, it seems awesome vs. rufus/cammy divekicks, although from some ranges it seemed like EX raida was required vs. cammy. I’m actually surprised at how effective it was vs. rufus divekicks, even those divekicks that are coming in from the angle where bison was untouchable with his j.fp, it still grabbed. Maybe the hitboxes on divekicks aren’t as broken as bison’s j.fp Good to hear if rufus really is gonna be the top tier for super, nice to get a headstart on the matchup.
Although its obvious, its really good for crossunder AA if you don’t feel like timing your trip guard counters (or think you’ll be out of range).
I shouldn’t say anything because I am very terrible, but raida beats out Adon’s jaguar tooth if you do it right before he launches. I’m sure there are safer options, but I don’t know them!
Agemen (b+MP) is one of my most used antiairs, since if you time it right and get the 2hit version of it, after the 1st hit you can (SJC?) into HK command dash and then HK Kazegiri for 190 total dmg.
You don’t need to SJC it, you can just cancel into the dash. Also if you’re close to the corner you do anti air Agemen -> HK command dash -> Raida which will put them in the corner and give you an untechable knockdown. This can turn the match around in an instant.
Oh ok I wasn’t sure if it was a SJC or just a simple cancel, that’s why I put it in parentheses.
