Anthropomorphized Freak! - The RR Combo Thread

afaik his normal bnb and this one do roughly the same damage, it just depends on you start it, and if you want to fit more of those f+h cr.h or st.h into the original part of the combo. it builds around 3/4 or maybe like 4/7 bar? i couldn’t get the boulder trap consistently, so i tried to put in the oil bomb, and it worked very well. just an idea.

BTW- please if you are going to make the thread for combos, for the love of the gods update it.

hey guys, was just in the lab and came up with something cool:
RR, Dante, Frank (in that order):
do a basic BnB with RR and end it with his machine gun super[mash to atleast 64 hits], then after the last bullet DHC into devill trigger, switch in frank and take a picture and you get lvl 5.
works in the anywhere on the screen
alternatively, you could but in Amy in place of Dante to make this combo super easy.

k lemme update that first post cuz it had bad info in it sorry:
if you just do machine gun super, dhc to dante or wolvi or amy or vergil etc, switch in frank and take the picture, you get lvl4.
here’s another way to do get lvl5 it that is MUCH easier and you don’t even need to use a BnB:
mahcine gun super, dhc Amy slowmode, pictureXXshopping cart super, picture. it’s kinda meter heavy but w/e.

currently trying to test a combo that i know will give me lvl 5 with only two meter with the RR, Amy, Frank team. btw that team could be gdlk, just sayin

ok here’s that GDLK combo i was talkin bout:
RR, Amy, Frank:
do a BnB, end with machine gun super mashed to 50+ hits, DHC to slow mode, switch in Frank, dash, s.H and log trap at the same time, picture, log trap hits, now at this point you could go for a big lvl4 Frank combo which is a good idea because it will go on forever and waste the slowmode so frank can start building meter during the rest of the combo, then otg with picture to get to lvl5, or, you could just take another picture, drink a beer and mash M a lot, your choice

Anybody post the UMVC3 guide combos? That could be a start. Unless those combos are way too basic.

tested out DHCing from machine gun super more. you can actually dhc while the last 2 or 3 bullets are on the screen and you’ll still put the opponent into the spinning airborn state. this meens that the above combo works with anybody who has a devil trigger super AND makes the timing wayyy more lenient. i just did it with zero, but instead of doing s.H into picture with Frank, you substitute j.M while calling log trap, j.S, picture, then do a combo with frank.

You can also do it with Frank in at second spot by whiffing his super after the DHC from RR. Means you dont have to have a slow down super or anything like that to be able to do it. Just whif the DHC and while they are still spinning in the air from the Machine gun super, take photo and you’re level 4.

Frank seems like he would work well with raccoon too. Dash up and toward+heavy+assist cancelled into teleport works really well.

definetly agree. shopping cart, burrowing then quick instant overheads is to good, or shopping cart, burrow, SJ over their head, rocket skate down for ambiduous crossup, etc…it makes for easier pressure tactics that lead to big damage.

plus, frank and RR is way cooler than dante or trish will ever be Kappa. And i really hate starting frank, he just sucks at lvl1. But RR can just runaway and trap, wait for the opponent to get in midrange, then f.H, shopping cart, burrow, mix-up.

and yes, i tried out the RR machine gun, into Frank cinematic super(wiff), then combo camera into pendulum and camera agan and it totally works, but the timing gets tight depending on your RR combo, which is why i liked having slow mode turned on…i see Amy and RR being good together to cause similar to the frank assist, RR needs something that can lock the opponent down so he can burrow and get tricky.

gonna do more testing on how much damage i can do with RR Amy Frank, and RR Frank.

I was doing something similar with Chris’s Sweep Combo, but you have a much less lenient time to do anything as compared to RR.

I started been messing with RR/Frank/Skrull, and I do a short confirm into :qcf::atk::atk:, DHC before last hit into Frank’s QCB:atk::atk: > dash (if midscreen) + call SS Tenderizer > QCF+:s: > QCF+:s:. This is pretty much guaranteed level 5 as long as you do more than 45 hits before DHC. I’m sure this would work with Jam Session, any other combo extending assist that holds for that long, or any hard knockdown assist i.e. Chris’s Boulder Punch Assist.

Note if you do too many hits before Rock n Roll, they will pop out after the first hit of tenderizer. Though you probably just do an extended combo and not mash RnR and get the same effect.

EDIT: If you do this in the corner, you must delay the DHC in order for Frank’s hyper to whiff

Ugh, fuck the Boulder Loop midscreen. I know some are getting 5 midscreen, is it char specific?

With the exception of Alioune’s combo, is there another good combo that’ll carry midscreen(assists or not assists)?

I’ve mostly used c.H to start combos since it has an insane reach and you can follow it up with f.H, S (depending on distance delay S till rocket is right next to the opponent)

for example: c.H, f.H, S, j.M, j.S, (land) DP+M, DP+H, QCF+AtkAtk (does 559.000 damage when fully mashed super)

You can extend the combo after the log with rocket skates > S. I also recommend using j.HS instead of j.MS but that’s just what I’ve been doing, there may be a reason j.MS is superior.

Pulsr- I broke 580k without supers today:

I got to like 9 reps or so before I dropped it. You can get at least 3-4 reps midscreen, dunno if you can get more.

Just starting to get the boulder loop down. It made it heaps easier when I figured out to “slide” from dash to S. Real similar to how I learned to ROM with Mags back in MVC2. Hopefully that makes it easier for someone else.

1st of all, I had t ohighlight your text to make it visible haha.

2nd, how are you sliding? Are you going LM sliding down to S? that is the part of the combo I’m still having a lot of trouble with as well. Often the S co mes out too late and the opponent has already landed.

lol, I fail, I was doing this with RR/frank west on day 1, but never bothered to make a video, or post about it, haha. Guess I shoulda shared the knowledge earlier :frowning:

I really wish the OP would keep this damn thread up to date. Pretty sure this is the only char. forum out of all 50, that doesn’t have a collection of combos at quick reference. Which I guarantee is hurting the character, cause I know when I start learning a character one of the first things I do, is head to the char forum, and look at the combo thread, and start practicing in training mode. That is almost impossible with this thread. Not to mention there is no standard layout being used for combo notations. It’s very confusing, and for a incredibly lightly used character as is, it’d really be nice to get some organization, and up to date info in here, cause this is a character that needs time to develop, and not having current info readily available is only going to delay his development.

Would be nice for sure, the combos are there, but you have to search through posts to find them at the moment. I assume the thread was made with the intention of keeping it updated so hopefully some will be put up soon. Hopefully the actually useful ones as well.
