Damn okay, it really is as hard as I thought lol

landed one boulder trap online was to scared of dropping to try another

why is it so hard

You know I completely forgot you could dash after doing the bear trap and still have enough to plant a boulder trap. I just basically thought to my self…bear trap, boulder trap, bear trap, boulder trap. Alright cool, thank you a lot for that insight!

So many unnecessary normals in combos in here. Why use anything outside of j.:s: or c.:m:? These normals can even if RR is about 3 inches away from the opponent, whereas the rest, outside of the fake overhead j.:m:, suck pretty hard. Long story short, if I want to go high I use combo 1 and for low combo 2. Unnecessary normals = less damage!

Finally got the midscreen loop. Its easy in the corner, midscreen positioning is tight but you can get about 150k more damage which is good since his bnb is 600k.

Actually doing :d::m::h: :d::h: :f::h::s: at the start adds about 30k to the combo.

Sure. After launch hold foward in the air, wait a split sec do sj.H, delay sj.S and go back to holding foward while falling. Land very close but dash anyway beartrap, extremely minor dash bouldertrap, queue the light from the boulder S, go into loop. Midscreen most I get is 3-4 reps and log ender doesnt work midscreen(for me atleast) so after the last s.S as boulder is falling beartrap xx super before the soft knockdown.

Ill get to that eventually. im way to lazy right now :frowning:

I seem to only be able to do 1 trap. the second one will activate but wont hit the opponent

all of a sudden oil bomb don’t want to work as a otg for me

lmhs j.m j.h j.s. bear trap >oil trap s j.l j.l. j.h s hxx boulder trap

if all goes well they get hit by both and It’s a free reset

been trying to a j.s type combo off log trap aswell I know It’s pos

Just spent a few hours grinding the boulder loop. Here’s the result:

The opponent flips out of it if any more loops are attempted.

Just spent about an hour and a half grinding the Boulder Loop, I can do at least 6 reps fairly consistently now. There isn’t really a trick to it except for practice. Remember, you’re trying to time it so that your opponent falls low enough to activate the trap, then you launch them; a common problem is that most people launch too early. I found that muting my TV and listening to the combo’s rhythm helped immensely; this is how I ended up mastering Fuerte’s RSF loop, and it works just as well for this combo.

It seems easier on some (taller?) characters than others. I started off practicing on Wolverine and was getting nowhere, but as soon as I snapped in Ghost Rider I got max reps within a few attempts.

Is it safe to say that the boulder trap loop is near impossible to do online?

It’s safe to say that being an online warrior of sorts, if it is possible, I’ll report here. It would help if I learned it first, I just read through this thread. :rofl: It also really depends on the connection. I can do Buktooth Loop, advanced Dante combos, Magneto air dash loop etc online with a good connection, but if there’s too much input lag/it stutters just once, forget it.

dont worry about doing things online unless thats all you have to play people. this netcode is too bad to worry about it.
