we haven’t updated the combos IMO
RR is pretty beast when in the corner. It was mentioned you could do 3 reps of loops
The combos are also very tight

Umm…what? Lol.
Midscreen you try to reset into unblockable, corner you try boulder loop and either stop it early to try for unblockable reset, or you drop it for pushing it too far.
He has other combos, he’s not meant to do them though. Boulder looping doesn’t add much, and it’s actually affected by hitstun. The other flashier combos do the same if not, less damage than the Day1 combo, and they’re 100x harder to do. But since they’re so complicated you can mask your potential reset because no one knows exactly where his combos end. Hitstun is not his friend.
Plus, he’s got two viable assists. People rely on Log but Spitfire is godly.
Boulder loops add heaps, they are really difficult though. Yes they are affected by hit stun, but you can do a lot, around about 10 from a normal confirm I think, if you are capable of it.
ALL of his assists are really good.
Claymore is a better Grenade toss
I have yet to see anyone use claymore. It’s like the Doom Rocks of RR’s assists
Midscreen oil bomb combo I’ve been messing around with:
Hitconfirm :s: (:uf:) (delay) :h:, :d::atk::s:, :s: (land)
:atk::s:, :dp::l:, :d::h:, :f::h: (delay) :s: (:uf:) ,:s: (land)
Summary: Launch into a very delayed H and combo into down rocketskates S so you hit the floor really early. You then have enough time to rocketskate forward and OTG with the oil bomb.
The result is carrying the opponent across half of the stage without wasting any assists or bounces.
If still midscreen then you don’t get much unless you add some assists to the mix, but it’s still about 40k more than the standard BnB:
:dp:, :dp::h:, :dp::h:, :qcf::atk::atk:
If you reach the corner you can get a few boulder loops, but I only do one boulder for consistency:
:dp:, :qcb::l: (delay) :s:, :dp::uf::h:, :ub:…:u: (hover) :s: (land) :dp:, :qcf::atk::atk:
Or you can use the groundbounce for a reset setup, a basic one being:
:dp:, :qcb::l: (delay) :f::h:, :d::d:
still searching for a dependable xfc3 combo…there has to be something that doesn’t require double tapping air S and alternating between skates and dashes multiple times
Sorry for the multiple posts.
Shitty new forum was refusing to recognise that my post had gone through.
And then 10 minutes later they all appeared at once.
And this stupid thing doesn’t even let you delete things, but I can at least edit them like this.
So until someone else gets around to it this crap is going to stay here clogging up the thread. Fuck this forum.
I actually do not find the boulder trap loop that hard to execute. My BnB that I’ve worked on in the the corner is:
L, M, H, D+H, F+H, S, sj.M, S, Oil Bomb, D+H, S, sj.M, S, Bear Trap, Boulder Trap, (dash, S, TK Boulder Trap) X3, Mad Hopper, TK Log Trap, dash back, Rock and Roll.
Its not the fact that he cannot put out damage, you just have to work a lil bit more to maximize is damage output. Boulder Trap loops help with the damage in his combo greatly. Mid Screen I just basically go for one rep and continue my combo from there. I have start playing with him on point a lot more and he has a lot of potential when played properly and backed up with the right assists.
But I’ve only recently begun stepping up my game with RR since he has interested me for a while but I was too afraid to get blown up by top tier characters all the time. But now that I’m learning the ins and outs of him, the fruits of labor are starting to show.
Is it possible to combo into his Bear Trap? I’m trying to figure out meterless ways to level up Frank West with RR, but so far I’m coming up short.
What do you have in mind?
Know that you cannot hard tag frank after a bear trap
You can raw tag after using a flame puddle to otg after the first air series.
So I had a car trip and was messing around in the lab with Rocket Skates.
I play anchor RR in most situations so I was trying to find better way to get in with solo mixups or to get the space you need for TK Spitfire/teleport mixups since it’s hard to set that up a lot of the time.
The best I could come up with was RS Back>RB UB>(cancel early to be at TK height) RS BxxSpitfire 1 or 2 land teleport.
FlyingVe had a teaser for a vid about RS tech but I don’t think it ever actually got made. Anyone have any other good uses for RS aside from the normal tri-dash pressure, runaway RS + traps, and assist + RS dash over tech?
