Shinsekai Yori 22

Spoiler

Fuck man, Kiromaru is kinda cool, but it doesn’t seem like he can be trusted either. That’s the vibes I’m kind of getting. Not sure what his motives are. Is he planning to double cross the group in exchange that Squeeler doesn’t kill him or something? He seemed the type to be prideful and rather die than submit to a scumbag like Squeeler, but his character isn’t that fleshed out so who knows. :expressionless: Fuck man I cannot wait until next episode. Arggggggg. Wait is gonna kill me. Who knows what kind of fucked up shit they’re going to find in Tokyo?!
Just finished watching the first two Berserk Movies
amazing is not the word. Can’t wait to see the third one!

That’s not because you’re so into the show. That’s having ADD because it’s so glaringly obvious when the animation shits the bed.
Well, I said that because the manga’s still running, but it looks like it’s apparently ending this month.
I like how I still have zero attachment to any of the characters in that Maoyu show. The show itself is still as boring as its intro. Keep expecting something remotely interesting to happen but all I get are hints of something that never amount to anything and a bunch of shit that apparently happens off screen. Probably drop it after the next episode.
[details=Spoiler]I must have missed it but why exactly does the public at large hate
GUNVARREL now after the leak of the final episode? It was 4 minutes long
and it showed the world going to shit. To my understanding, the
subliminal messages in the leak haven’t made public. It doesn’t make any
sense to me[/details]

Spoiler
After the opening ceremony at Omi Jingu, the National Karuta Championship is set to begin. The Mizusawa group is competing in regular clothing to combat the heat, instead of wearing kimonos. However, though Nishida is proud to present the group with some T-shirts that his sister had made, they turn out to be a statement that she feels that Hokuo will take top position in the team tournament, with Mizusawa taking second place. Tsukuba is in fan mode and taking the entirety of the experience in stride and he even admits to doing his usual antics regarding team starting order. This time around though, Tsukuba is surprised to find out that he will be starting, instead of second-year Komano. It turns out that Komano has relegated himself to a support role to scout the notable players/teams, something that he and Taichi discussed among themselves and Sumire also participates to help Komano scout. As Mizusawa awaits to find out their challenger, Retro of Hokuo makes a remark to Taichi about how Hokuo will take the title and Taichi should focus on individual stuffs (attaining Class A), Taichi says that even if he were to lose an individual match tomorrow, Mizusawa will win all of their team matches today.

When the matches are underway, Sumire goes to check/scout some female players, particularly one named Megumu. She is surprised to find out that the ordinary-looking girl is a bit of an airhead, but also popular and sharp-tongued, making Sumire think that there are a variety of female personalities that play Karuta. Meanwhile, Komano scouts a strong team that has won the team tournament a record amount of times, including last year.

Mizusawa is matched up against Chiba International High School, it’s students/participants being exchange students who are wearing kimonos, much to the surprise of Mizusawa. They also speak English as well, adding to their ‘foreign’ status’, but when Taichi speaks some English to them, the Chiba group reverts to speaking Japanese, something also unexpected by Mizusawa. Some of the individual matchups are interesting: Tsukuba is up against a large black guy. Nishida is up against a SE Asian male of small stature (like Amakasu). Kana is up against a blond female that is wearing her kimono incorrectly, which bugs her. The Chiba team proclaims to love Karuta, something that is entirely Japanese, and though most of the Mizusawa team is confused by the Chiba group, Chihaya is happy to find out that Karuta has somewhat of an international appeal.

The match soon begins and the Chiba team plays in a particular way, unlike competitive Karuta like Mizusawa, something that is picked up upon by Nishida. Akihiro is intimidated by his opponent’s stature, Kana notices that her opponent loves the poems like she does, Nishida notes his opponents’ untrained ability, Taichi notices that his opponent has his cards set up a certain way. When Nishida makes the realization of their opponents’ playing tendencies, he tells Mizusawa to play like they normally do. Though, Chihaya’s opponent (a blond male) takes a few cards, Chihaya rallies her team to turn around the match. Things quickly change as Mizusawa pulls ahead, showcasing their ability (Chihaya’s speed, team style, experience) and wins the match against the Chiba team.

Afterwards, The Chiba team is being interviewed by a local TV outlet from Chiba and responding to the reporters questions about their loss to Mizusawa. However, when Mizusawa is nearby and writing a message in English on a whiteboard saying that they want to play them (Chiba) again, the blond male responds a bit more positively saying that he and the others will continue to play Karuta and work to strive to play/enjoy the game that they love.

Outside of Omi Jingu, Arata makes an appearance. Apparently he had lied to Chihaya about only attending the individual tournament days and he hopes to see her in action in the team tournament. As he makes his way up the stairs, Shinobu appears from behind to surprise Arata.
Spoiler
Haruka receives a locket from Manabe on her birthday. Then next day, Haruka is ill and is made to rest by the other ESP society members, However, something strange is noticed by both Manabe and Yuriko when Haruka doesn’t react accordingly to their thoughts. Despite protests by the other members against Manabe being the one to care for Haruka, Manabe gets the job. He realizes he has full reign to think perverted thoughts, but it’s useless if Haruka isn’t embarrassed by them. Later, Haruka awakens alone and has a thought of a more pleasant time when her mother had tended to her when she was sick, years ago. Manabe makes some food for Haruka and tends to her, the moment being something that she enjoys.

The next day at school, Haruka has recovered from her being ill, but her ESP hasn’t regained functionality. Manabe is punished by Hiyori for all the perverted thoughts he had, even though Haruka wasn’t able to personally hear them, though she was somewhat aware by his expressions. Yuriko suggests that Manabe take Haruka out on a sort-of-date as repentance. When the pair go on their outing, both are equally embarrassed on their ‘date’. The pair visit various places, one in particular a movie theater and something Haruka wants to experience unaided by her ESP, though the movie they watch is ‘interesting’. Elsewhere, Yuriko is at Muroto’s house and commenting on Haruka’s inability to use ESP, something that may hinder her future plans.

As the ‘date’ concludes, Haruka places a picture of her and Manabe that was taken at a photo booth into the locket to symbolize and remind her of the fun experience that they had together. Suddenly, when Haruka is walking ahead of Manabe, her ESP kicks back in and she has visions that shock her and cause her to pass out and fall to the ground, unconscious.
Watched the Blood-C movie and it dropped the ball at the end. It started off pretty good but the end was just so anti-climatic. Confirms the tie-ins to XXXholic in the tv series, which was cute but nothing really came about from it and seemed forced. The best part was Production IG have a movie budget because the animation quality was gorgeous. The design work was also really good.

Zetsuen no Tempest 20 - Hmmm
didn’t see that twist coming at all.

I’ve thought from the beginning that either Yoshino killed Aika or Aika committed suicide. I didn’t think she would be the mage but this will probably confirm my second hunch.

a furry anime fansub site? the internet truly has everything

Despite initial impressions and the borderline subject matter, you can rest assured that there is little to no furry pandering, it’s a family friendly film. Wolf Children is the latest in the line of Mamoru Hosoda films (Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapth Through Time). The man is a master story-teller and frequently gets compared to and sometimes even hailed as the next Miyazaki.
Yeah I know, I’ll watch it someday. Hopefully it’s not like summer wars were it’s called amazing because of it’s good animation and nothing else. GWLTT was good though.

Psycho Pass 19 is one of the best in the series just for the “conversation” scene alone, and that ending damn. PP definitely one of the best animes I’ve seen so far.
