Watched Motoko Shinkai’s Garden of Words and it was so beautiful both literally and figuratively. Motoko Shinkai movies are so bitter sweet for me. I highly recommend people check out this movie.
I caved and ran through all SnK eps from that shitty recap up till now… and from then the plot has been moving at a snail’s pace. Looks like some actual progress is gonna be made next week finally. The first half of the series was so explosive in comparison I hope it picks up
**Really ** liking blood lad. As far as the first two episodes, it’s like a rad mix of Soul Eater and FLCL, and doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s beautiful, nicely animated and has a really interesting cast

All the kids knew each other before they were locked in the school, it seems. How come they don’t remember? Did they lose their memories when they passed out at the gates (episode 1), or is it something else? Who is Monobear, and who is the agent? I thought Celes was the agent after that one episode where Monokuma was talking to the veiled agent while drinking tea, but the latest episode blew that theory up. Would be beyond fucked up if Kirigiri is the agent.
Yeah, Makoto Shinkai’s movies are too godlike. His music guy, TENMON, is a wizard. Those two are like the younger counterparts to Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi.
Latest episode of Fate Kaleid kicked ass. I liked the fight between Saber Alter and llya Archer. The rearranged F/SN tracks during the battle was a great bit of fanservice
Kingdom Season 1 CG is ass. Kingdom Season 2 ditches the CG and goes back to regular animation.
Yeah, the composer for his movies are so good and it’s usually the subtle pieces that get to you the most. The piano melody that’s used sparingly throughout the movie was astounding. The ending theme is so moving with the lyrics just being perfect for the movie. The music queue for the ending theme in the final scene was perfect as well. I think for me the order of Shinkai movies is Beyond the Clouds > Garden of Words > 5 CM > Children who Chase Lost Voices > Voices of a Distant Star
5CM could interchange with Garden of Words as well. I think he has some other movies that I haven’t seen as well.

I kinda think watching F/SN anime ain’t so bad now after all if it means you can enjoy works more solid series from the Fate franchise that they make in the future.
