Anime & Manga Thread v.5 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Welcome to 2017

Just got caught up with all my stuff.

AoT is bonkers. My nigga Reiner said “Not today, ho!”

ive heard alot of rage around the internet about the dragged out story. so sounds like the author continued his style from suzuka. ive always had mixed feelings about suzuka, i liked the plot, but i hated the MC dude

Latest chapter of AoT manga is crazy because of Mikasa. This girl is just too intense.

^ You know what’s even more intense?

But seriously though, ch48 Shingeki:

Spoiler

Where the hell did Irvin bring all those Titans from?!

Her convictions are awesome.

AoT Manga chapter 48 spoiler

Spoiler

Irvin is pretty boss too with that game plan of his. Shit’s going to hit the fan next chapter but I have no clue what the out come of this encounter will be. Seems like both sides are going to encounter some heavy losses.

I remained loyal to KniM to the bitter end hahaha. To be honest, after watching the first epd I just have one word that sums up my feelings about it–and that word is “tolerable.”

To hell with Seo though, biggest manga troll I can remember. I’ll watch it for now, because interestingly enough it opens around my favorite part of the story (deep in the manga). I’m guessing all those OVAs actually mattered in some way.

My body is ready

Yo lets fucking GOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Just caught up with Hunter x Hunter, bloody brillient, especially the Chimera Ant arc.

Is anyone still keeping up with D-Gray Man, remember reading it a few years back but dropping it when the art got so messy it was hard to tell what the fuck was going on and the releases started making me wonder if I’d accidently skipped chapters because the pacing got fucked so badly, is it still a complete mess or has it recovered now?

I mean I know it was never brillient, but just picked up Jump Ultimate Stars again and started thinking about blitzing through the manga back up to the current chapter.

SnK 48 was fucking intense… and now we wait another month T_T

Really enjoying Knights of Sidonia, Tsumugi is the most adorable giant Robot/Monster thing since DOLORES

So chapter 48 of SnK manga…

Spoiler

Who’s the real bad guy?, after Fubar just admited they weren’t the bad guys.

Yo halloween work costume here I come

I have to fight temptation to read the manga so bad because it will make each episode less intense.

On another topic, I’m finally going finish Samurai Champloo. I’m the biggest Nujabes/Force of Nature fan there is so my body is ready.

Yoo

Man that SNK ep 17 dat running ass!!!

so decided to take a look at the kimi no iru machi anime, 4 episodes in this is already better than suzuka, lol. Main character is so much more tolerable.

Bwahaha Watamote 5. What a great anime adaption. This is why anime comedies are actually better than manga comedies. This show it’s all the right places man, I highly recommend it. Nice and simple, genuine laugh out loud moments.

It’s my most favorite series now that Negima is gone. I feel the same as you do about this series, but you won’t have any luck proselytizing here. Pretty much everyone knows about it and opinions are split. How far are you into the novels? Are you reading the Railgun manga too?

Yeah. She got flanderized. In the first arc, she actually had something of an endearing personality. After she was saved she just became an unruly pet with a black hole for a stomach. In the first episode she was introduced well; the story made it believable that someone would rather she didn’t die. I still remember that scene where she asked Touma if he would be willing to follow her into Hell.

In the arc where Index was hanging around Accelerator I found myself agreeing with his abandoned-too-soon plan to kill her and discard the gore in an alley.

Like angelpalm joked, some things only make sense if you read the source material. Every arc in the anime has a point. Even the arc about the irrelevant vampire-killing girl was relevant in that it introduced and explained Gemstones and hinted at the identity of the thing sealed in Touma’s arm. The novels have only recently reached the halfway point and we’re getting revelations about stuff that was mentioned off-hand in volume one.

About the arcs being too long or short; that’s JC Staff’s problem right there. With Index, every volume of the novel could be its own movie if you didn’t leave anything out. When they make the anime they cram about 6 of them into one season and have to decide which arc gets what taken out to make room. In the arc where everyone switched bodies, there was actually a serial killer running around but that got axed.

That pose at the end, lmfao. Dude’s so proud bout beating up women in his gym shorts, bwhahaa
Kinda reminds me about Araragi feeling himself after beating up on a school girl lol

I finished all of the ‘old testament’ and I’m up-to-date in the new-testament novels. I’m just happy to have found someone else who appreciates the depth of the novels. The Curtana arc -> Star of Bethleham section was when I finally managed to shed my hatred of Hamazura.

I guess the point is that a lot of the intricacies of the novel are lost in translation to the anime. It’s not the first time that’s happened.

Also, lol’d at the Certain Magical Girl-Puncher video. There are even more scenes that have been left out too :stuck_out_tongue:
