People get into things late all the time, I don’t blame em. I mean shit, it wasn’t even til last year that I actually saw Samurai Champloo lol
That new Trigger show I’ll be keeping an eye on. As much as people harp on the school girls aspect of it, as long as it’s good and well executed that’s all it needs in my book. Originality, while nice to have isn’t the most important thing that makes or breaks a show imo. The execution is where it’s at for me.
I also liked the ending of the last episode (5) of Valvrave. I wonder if the first 5 people shown in the credits are going to be the mech users. And it seems like the physics professor knows some things about the person who created the mechs.
I feel like sooner or later in the Gargantua show like there’s going to be an episode where all is good then to close out the episode a mech either an enemy or ally is going to come crashing down and is either going to like shoot up the place or just land somewhere and then the main character is going to like stop what he’s doing and either fight or check out the other mech and it’s going to leave on a cliffhanger till the next episode.
I was definitely not expecting the series to turn out like this so I’m finding the show very unique, at the moment. It’s similar to to other shows where a character gets transported to a different world but instead of immediately being thrown into conflict, Gargantua is taking it’s time to develop the world and it’s characters. I also really like the attention to detail the show has; it’s just the subtle things that’s really making it for me, such as the main character having broken Japanese or that translator piece with the visual display. That being said, I don’t find the majority of the cast particularly interesting but the work within the context of the show.
LOGH was an OAV series so they can get away with anything since it wasn’t broadcasted on network TV. Also, the tolerance level for violence in the 80’s-90’s seemed higher than it is nowadays. Censoring of violence and nudity seems pretty high lately in comparison to the old days when showing a pair of tits on TV was okay for something like Ranma 1/2. It also seems to be common practice to censor it on TV and then released an uncensored BD version, possibly as a means to drive sales of the BD.
There should be no bad talk whats-so-ever about TTGL. The hell is wrong with you guys lol.
One of the best animes ever!!! IMHO I had no problem with the ending. Fuck it gonna marathon it this week. I put the OST on and yep its a wrap for all music in my car right now.
At the light with this blasting and me yelling fight the power, guess it fits since Im black.
Just watched the first episode of Gargantia with my girl. The animation and CG are gorgeous, almost movie quality considering the attention to detail with things like the background floors and what not. About fucking time. Anything else besides this to watch? All I am watching is this, HXH, and Titan.
Do it you should watch Gargantia. It’s a really good show IMO. Reminds me of the beginning of Star Ocean 3: Till the End of time. Being from a different world/dimension and stuck in a civilization of lesser technology and such. And the only other anime that I’m watching now besides Gargantia and Attack on Titan is Valvrave the LIberator and I’m starting to catch up on backlog so I started watching Blue Exorcist and Level E.
Best part about Gargantia is how all the dudes dress normally and all the women dress like slutty Indians.
Oh…and SUPER SURFING ROCKET LOBSTER LESBIANS
Gargantia has that slow pacing and nice cg and yeah the girls look like slutty mail ladies…but so relaxing. Crazy question what happened to Rackage lobster lady? Did her breast not save her from the dunk she got a few eps ago?
I totally expected to be at least mildly annoyed by Amy when the series started…and that definitely hasn’t happened.
Speaking of shows that progress slowly and calmly, the latest episode of Red Data Girl was quite the revelation.
Other stuff I’d like to recommend from this season includes Muromi-san (good comedy and doesn’t run on for forever since it’s just 12 minutes an episode…plus it’s worth the watch just for that opening), Hataraku! Maou-sama! (silliest concept with best execution), Red Data Girl (see above).
