They’ll definitely finish them. Why wouldn’t they? Those movies make fucking BANK.
What they did with Shinji in the second movie is nothing short of amazing. It’s different, but I really like what they did. You’ll have to see for yourself at some point.
Oh boy this troll thread aga-wait I’m not on /a/ what the hell? Then again this thread is crazy more /a/ like since the forum changed.
Anyway the jist of the Yamakan thing is that Yamakan said some stuff about how the anime industry is too exclusive to otaku to the point that some shows are directed to just pander to them through things like parody (he mentions Shinbo’s direction of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei as an example) and cliches to try maintain that audience instead of trying to be more ambitious and try to appeal to a wider audience than just Type B Otaku. The Shinbo thing comes some translated snippet Shinbo said about how making and selling anime is a business and if doesn’t sell then its bad for business.
You take those opinions, badly generalize them using some articles from sankaku complex, make that pic (which popped up before Fractale even aired last year), troll /a/ with it and watch everyone argue over it. Hell, I believe the whole Kannagi thing with Nagi is a overblown event brought by Sankaku Complex sensationalist report on it.
It sold well. That was guaranteed since it was BRS. Its just that the OVA got delayed like all hell and things can change over time and they simply wanted to get new director so that the producers could start fresh from the ground up. I can pretty much guarantee the anime would be crazy better than the OVA though at this point as long as they dont get like the writer that did Occult Academy or something.
Ugh I should have fucking known Sankaku was involved. What a fucking cesspool of a site. Completely worthless. Even that whole “Insists anime that aren’t sellable are worthless” sounded like it was just being spun as negatively as possible. He probably just said if an anime doesn’t sell, it’s a commercial failure, which makes sense because it’s a fucking business, just like every other product, fucking duh.
On a different note, I wonder if they’ll adapt the plot from the PSP game or go for something completely different.
You know how the tabloids work; always twist the words to get more readers. I think with the mention of Maria+Holic earlier, it’s pretty clear that the guy just wants to direct what he wants, even if it doesn’t sell well.
