Black Rock Shooter gets a 2nd chance regarding an anime adaptation. For those worried it being similar to the OVA; Yutaka Yamamoto, the OVA’s director, isn’t behind this project.

Second chance? Does that mean the OVA tanked in Japan? I thought it was well received to them, despite me thinking it was overhyped to me, at least that’s what I guessed.
Not so sure about the sales, but if there’s going to be a TV series which doesn’t have the same director (or probably the same staff), then that’s kinda telling how the OVA fared. Yamamoto is no stranger to controversy himself (getting fired from directing the 1st few episodes of Lucky Star, not getting much success with Fractale, plus some other remarks about the industry), either, which didn’t help.
Hahaha that does seem like something he would enjoy.

I actually really liked those first episodes of Lucky Star, I was sad for him when he got fired.

I say that Kaze no Stigma was like a short series version Inuyasha. I watched the whole thing also, meh I seen better.
On the other hand, I love Code Geass. I don’t care what nobody say how bad it was the characters and artwork was simply delightful. The moral of the story is: “Retribution is a bitch!”

I also love Cagliostro. I saw it before any Lupin series, which kinda spoiled Lupin, since Cagliostro is so fuckin’ good.

EDIT - “Wrote his thesis on End of Evangelion” just about made me punch my computer. However, I’m willing to accept that perhaps he wrote about how EoE is exactly the wrong kind of anime to make. And in fact I’m going to believe that in my head.
Do you have any sources on that info? If it’s true, I appreciate what Yamamoto is trying to do, seriously. But none of his work actually shows that, or is even very good. Fractale had some good potential but it was just a badly directed show. The only other stuff he directed anything of was Kannagi, Lucky Star and BRS. That’s it.
It’s pretty sad to hear if that’s true about Shinbo.

It’s true about him wanting to save anime by trying to target other demographics, but he’s so much of a sensitive guy that he got mad when the person adapting Fractale into a manga mentioned the source material as boring.
However, regarding Shinbo about anime being worthless without sales…well, he directed a 2nd season of Maria Holic this year; and the 1st season (from a couple of years ago) hardly sold any DVDs/BDs at all. 
oh come on it was released like 3 years ago. theres gotta be a limit on ish bein spoilers.
