Why can’t other directors be as godlike as Hayao Miyazaki? I just watched Green vs. Red and I hate myself for doing it. Those asshats even had the gall to re-use Cagliostro’s theme song in the intro driving scene and end credits (sound familiar?). They also referenced a lot of scenes and moments from Cagliostro, which made me rage even harder. What is this modern day Japan shit? What happened to 1960/1970s Europe? What happened to the fantastic scenery and still-life art? What happened to the amazing support cast?
The only good thing about G v. R was the music. Thank all that is right with the world that the series has been able to hold on to the same composer for 40ish years.
Miyazaki needs to remember where he came from and do a few Lupin movies as respect to the old days. His latest shit has been lacking… maybe he needs to take a step in the opposite direction for a bit to catch his stride again.
Moving off of Lupin for a second, once again, FUCK GUNDAM UNICORN. What the fuck is the point if you don’t even remember the character’s name or what the fuck they were doing after each new episode comes out? I’m not going to watch the entire series from the beginning every time a new episode drops. Retarded. This is why I stopped watching Hellsing Ultimate as well. Is that shit even finished yet? If each episode was an hour+ I would understand, but 45 minutes? K-Gat was able to do that once every month. If the production values were on the level of Rebuild of Evangelion, I would understand. But it’s not. Fuck that show. Maybe I’ll watch it 7 years from now when they’re finally finished.

But each episode is all around the ranges of 58-59 minutes, which is extremely close to an hour. So obviously that’s not even enough.

Uh, pay attention to the show more so that you aren’t forgetting everything? I haven’t had to rewatch any episodes of Unicorn outside of just wanting to for the animation.
People just don’t have any patience/memory. 9 months for something as insanely well animated as Gundam Unicorn for 1 hour(NOT 45 minutes as you seem to keep thinking lol) is COMPLETELY REASONABLE. Katanagatari’s art is WAY MORE SIMPLE than Gundam UC, and you’re fucking blind if you can’t see that. Let alone the artstyle, Katanagatari even had way less animation during actions scenes, and had less action scenes in general.

Not all of Lupins awesome but a lof of it is really good. And Lupins about world travel, not all of it is set in Europe. They travel all over the world stealin shit. It’s better that way honestly.

Lupin is like Golgo 13, Astro-boy, Doraeman, etc. The stories are never dated, he can work in any time period.
Also, to say “That lazy fuck Miyazaki needs to get off his ass and make more Lupin shit”, is asking way too much. He did a few episodes of the green jacket series and a movie. Making a feature length animated film, especially ones of the quality that Ghibli puts out, takes a monumental amount of work. He is old, he has made so many classics and masterpieces, and I doubt he would ever want to tread on old material when he can make something original.
Redline was the fucking shit. That was god damn awesome, and totally worth the wait. Totally watching that shit again.

The movie obviously had a lot of ridiculous shit like Funky Boy, Little Dezyuna joining the race out of nowhere, the Colonel turning into his own bio weapon, Machine Head eating a second steamlight and still getting beaten by JP and Sonoshee’s “love”, etc but who cares? That shit was still awesome
