I bet if Yen Press picked up KnK right now, they wouldn’t even take as long as Del Rey is right now, assuming they’re still doing something about it. Come to think of it, didn’t Del Rey drop publishing manga recently? I noticed that the recent Negima volumes have a different logo on the spine
Haha, I honestly don’t know why I haven’t considered that.
[details=Spoiler]
Pretty much a Nako episode through and through. Really shows how much she has changed from herself when working at the inn and how even Ohana’s grandmother gave her the confidence to be herself. [/details]
Tiger and Bunny 18
Spoiler
So it turns that Jake isn’t possibly the killer of Barnaby’s parents and now he’s got conflicted images on who the killer is; which includes himself. This gives him enough turmoil to almost make him give up on his job; which doesn’t help Kotetsu either since he can’t quit when his partner does. Back to square one with Kaede again, too.
Gintama 219
Spoiler
I dunno how to say this, but this is apparently an story and a half. The 1st part features a retired boxer who acts as a punching bag to people to relieve them from their stress arriving to the Kabuki district to see who’s strong enough to punch him out. In comes Kagura and knocks him down with one devastating punch. However, she does manage to guide the man for potential opponents, but all which either fight amongst themselves (Gintoki and Hasegawa) to attacking the Shinsengumi with signed cartridges (Katsura).
The 2nd part or half part features the the Yorozuya dudes at an inn; and meet up with the Shinsengumi trio and ultimately, Hedoro and his entire family. Considering his scary stature, the guys already declare that he’s ready for world domination, despite him being a rather peaceful guy. We’ll see how it goes next week.
So is it safe to say that ZZ is considered filler?
Anyway I don’t know about you guys, but I hate how I purchase an anime DVD box, only to realize that there’s a BD version of it, just bought all 4 DVD boxes of Yuyu Hakusho at my local Wal Mart for hella cheap… only to find out that there’s a BD version of it at my local Navy Exchange. :shake:
Because it continues an on-going story from the previous anime series. You can’t just compare it to whatever you want. You wouldn’t watch LotR out of order would you? No, and you’d be fucking confused if you did.
It’s not entirely filler, but a huge chunk of it is basically
I don’t know, if you watched it in reverse order it’d be a heartwarming tale of how a giant eyeball sends out his orcs to help put out fires in the shire and show up in huge numbers outside crumbling castles and help rebuild them! Then the movie ends with a nice firework display in the Shire!
I finally got around to watching the Conqurer of Shamballa (yes I know it’s old) and was very disatisfied with it, while it was great to revisit favourite characters after the series end, it just felt like a half-assed effort that ended with disappointment.
Sweet more concerts! I hope this is better than the first movie though, aside from the music being awesome I mean. We better get a real romantic ending this time.
Again: Serenity is good regardless of whether you watched Firefly before it. I fail to see how Char’s Counterattack continuing a story excuses it from being bad.
Actually, you can even watch The Empire Strikes Back without seeing A New Hope, because Empire is solid. It (re-)introduces and (re-)establishes the characters and setting very well, and, more importantly, is shot, written, and directed better than the other Star Wars films.
Char’s Counterattack is filled to the brim with contrivances (Quess actually loved Amuro what?), blatant exposition (“as you know, I designed the Nu Gundam” what?), and useless ass characters (Quess, Hathaway, Gyunei what?) getting in the way of what the movie should have been about from the beginning: Amuro Ray and fucking Char Aznable settling their score with Earth’s fate on the line. This is like introducing Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. It’s actually worse, because unlike Quess, Ewoks are actually kinda cute.
Char’s Counterattack is bad. It’s bad when seen after Gundam/Zeta. It’s bad when seen on its own. It’s bad, bad, bad.
I remember seeing Char’s Counterattack years ago. It was boring as hell. Too much angst, no where enough counterattacking. And I did watch Mobile Suit Gundam before it… Well most of it anyway. There was a lot people getting slapped in that show.
I too was wondering where the “Char” and the “Counterattack” fit into the movie. It should have been called Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Crazy Plan to Seduce an Annoying 13 Year Old Girl to Get Back at the Original Gundam’s Main Character While Everyone Says “Quess” Over and Over.
