The majority of the time I felt absolutely horrible for the brother for having to deal with a selfish little bitch like that, as I’m an older brother of two younger sisters. She was barely interesting, and honestly I can’t even fathom why people even care for her. I don’t hate her because I reserve hate for useless characters for a shitty show, it’s an emotion I throw around very easily in regards to anime. I just genuinely don’t like her, at all, and that in and of itself is something I dislike even more. I never want to feel that when watching a show. It goes beyond a simple thing as being annoyed of a character and actually not being able to fully enjoy the show because of it.
Despite her being a total bitch I still love Haruhi. Her enthusiasm and spirit is infectious and despite being a bitch she really does care about her “Brigade.”
The difference between Working!! and OreImo is that despite the presence of one character that causes relative dislike across the board in Working!!, there’s still a moderately strong ensemble cast and tolerable main character (Takanashi). In OreImo’s case, the main character isn’t tolerable and the rest of the cast isn’t interesting enough, outside of possibly Kuroneko.
Regardless, the 2nd season of Working!! is now going to be handled by a different director, not to mention the manga itself doesn’t center on the Inami/Takanashi angle alone, so we might get more development for the rest of the cast this time.
Man Stardust jast has a whole troop of terrible characters. Kou, Nina, Gato, and Kelly Especially Kelly, goddamn was this man stupid. Keith, Monsha, and Burning are the only likable characters.
Yeah I still don’t really like Haruhi all that much, but episode 12 of the first season (the concert) and the film did a good job of making it so I don’t loathe her outright.
I think kirino’s concept was to cater towards hardcore tsundere fans, with an emphasis on tsun, and apparently, as trendy as it seemed at the time, there just aren’t any fans for that type and the show backfired. I don’t even think of the show in high regards at all to really see it worth arguing for, it was another night time TV time crunch. Maybe I had a bias for her character design or Azusa’s Voice actress and tolerated her, who knows. Some bad characterization that really ruined a show for me would be like Kujo in Gosick.
Yea I get it. I dunno for me she comes off like a big sister. Being the oldest of 5 i have had my fare share of giving my brothers shit but when someone fucks with em it’s game on. Haruhi seems to have a big case of it and it appeals to me.
It’s the dere dere that people love in Tsunderes tho lol, why would you avoid the point that redeems the other half? lol.
I think some people think something along the lines of…it’s more rewarding to see the dere if you have to get by layers and layers of tsun to see that they’re making this much effort to hide the fact they like you. It’s like that one episode they did when kirino got super pissed because the eroge character she’s playing that was exactly like her was 99% tsun and no dere, and she was so happy when she did reach that point. I never read the manga or the LN so I’m assuming they never reached a point when she was suppose to show it on the show because everyone hates her, or if she ever does.
On another note, I need kamisama no memo 2 to come out now. Unless someone has something else good this season to suggest.
Kirino is getting all this hate, and it’s well-deserved and all… But Kyousuke is a selfish little shit in his own right. How the fuck you gonna friendzone a girl, then intentionally keep other guys from trying to court her? And it wasn’t like he didn’t know he was being a dick. He knew he was doing it because he didn’t want some guy ruining her relationship with him. And then Kyousuke went to fucking America to beg Kirino to come back… That’s supposed to be heartwarming, but I can only see it as selfish. I can’t like this guy.
It’s just a shitty family all over. They should have fucked in chapter one.
Haruhi is good because she starts to mellows out after they make that lolhorrible film of theirs. It’s just a little hard to see since there’s only like 3 or so episodes beyond that point and they decided to jumble the episodes up making it even harder to notice.

Angel Beats just stopped trying and I stopped caring really. It became super formulic with the episodes but the sheer stupidity of the characters actions kept me watching for cheap laughs.
So did the brother and sister ever fuck in that Ore whatever manga? You know she wanted to rape dude with all her aggression.

Baka Test S2 started out awesome. Felt like the show didn’t even have a finish last season; felt like it never ended at all. Starting off with a swimsuit/beach episode was a great way to kick off the new season. As expected, the show is still pretty funny. Even though the same gags returned (Minami’s breast envy, Hideyoshi being Hideyoshi, Voyeur’s perversion, Akira being a brocon, etc.), it was still funny and full of energy like last season. It was great to see more Akira. Bestest character.
